  1. Uses Adhesive Lure Eye Sizes 1/8" & 5/32"
  2. I tried the 3/0 and 4/0 and they will fit in the mold. I do not have the 5/0 so I could not try it. You will have some lead flashing where the hook leaves the mold because of the much smaller wire diameter than the recommended hook. The eye is a very tight fit over the post.
  3. You should check in the "Homebrew Tools" section. http://www.tackleunderground.com/community/index.php?/topic/25434-how-i-made-a-wire-bender-for-me/ It is not a complete Twist Tech but it is a start.
  4. Do-It makes a round head mold with a reverse barb in a 3/4 and 1oz model that will take a 2/0 or 3/0 Eagle Claw 570 hook. The hooks do not sit straight in the mold...see picture. The 570 is a regular wire jig hook. The Do It mold number is: RVB-3120A. It has 6 cavities 1 each of the following: 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4 and 1oz. Do It also makes these sizes in individual molds each having 5 cavities. You would have to buy 2 molds to get both sizes but you would be able to pour more cavities of each. They are both reverse barbs and the hooks do not sit straight in these mold either.
  5. What size head do you want and what collar style?
  6. The answer is yes and no. I tried a 1/0 - 5/0...I don't have the size 1 the molds calls for to try in the mold but I suspect a size 1 will not fit. I say no because the 3/0 and 4/0 point go up onto the aluminum frame so it will not close. This is really an easy fix if you are at all handy with a dremel. Also, the hooks do not sit straight in the mold. They sit so they are rubbing or close to rubbing on the collar. I do not see this as a deal breaker but it could cause some problems when pouring the heads. This picture is of the 32786 in the SUHD-5-A mold.
  7. Search for the term "Wacky" on the tackle merchant web sites. Most have them.
  8. The mold in the picture is a brand new mold right off the shelf. I am sure Do-It goes through every once-in-a-while and reworks their masters since the sand casting probably wears them out quite fast..
  9. The 3/0 L111BP will fit in all of the cavities except the 3/8oz because the mold gets in the way...see the picture. It is a tight fit in all of the cavities.
  10. No problem. I always try to use the KISS method of doing things...Keep It Simple Stupid. I found that shaking the bottle of paint while dipping made it easier to paint the larger size heads. You may have noticed that I put the head back in the flame after dipping. That is because the head was not evenly heated before and I had to heat it again the activat the powder paint on a small portion of the head.
  11. I molded up a bunch last year and just put 2 of the Do-It guards in each one. I was in a rush to get out and go fishing so I did the easiest thing I could think of. When I have more time I will make my own wire guards.
  12. Well that was subtle. This cannot be directed only at me though since this is only the second post where I have had my company name at the bottom. It is only there so people don't think I am trying to sneak around hiding my identity. But I will remove it from future posts. If you re-read this post it only has information...no sales pitch. Maybe next time a pm would suffice. JB
  13. I had some football swing jigs sitting here on my desk that I made last year so I could try them out this spring. I wasn't going to paint them but decided to try when you asked about it. I just thought I would try the least complicated way I could think of...here it is...easy as could be.
  14. Sounds to me like you are putting the coats on in reverse order.
  15. The only black finish heavy duty hook we have that will fit those molds without modifying the molds is the Trokar TK 840. Unfortunately it is approximately the same size as the 635. The Gamakatsu 604 will fit in the 1/4 and 3/8 mold but will not fit in the 1/2 and 3/4 because of the post in the eye of the mold. If you modified it to remove the post they wold fit. The 604 is a shorter hook but it is also a smaller diameter wire. The 604 2/0 length is 36mm vs. the 635 length at 46mm. The 604 4/0 length is 44mm vs. the 635 length at 55mm. The 604 4/0 wire diameter is 0.048" vs. the 635 4/0 at 0.055". If you did not care if it was a heavy duty hook then some of the regular wire hooks may fit. JBarlow Barlow's Tackle
  16. We used to mix our worm glitter in powder paint to sell before Component Systems started making glitter paint. Worked just fine...just be sure the glitter you use is designed to handle the high temperature. Not all glitter will work with heat.
  17. If that is correct then it is more than us.
  18. Cut off 2 strands of each color, tape them to a sheet of paper and mail them to me and I will match them as closely as possible. Give us a call about 5 days after you mail them to see what we have come up with. This is the easiest way to do it. If we can't come up with a match then all you have lost is about 50 cents. 19. Looks kind of like a Natures edge 615 http://www.barlowstackle.com/Natures-Edge-Silicone-Skirt-Layers-P802.aspx and a Ripple layer 433 http://www.barlowstackle.com/Ripple-Skirt-Layers-P2643.aspx No guarantees though. JB
  20. There really is no way to determine that from the picture. The 3 sizes we sell for weedguards are 0.011, 0.012 and 0.013. As you can see the difference between them is small. If I were doing this I would just go for the middle size or buy all three sizes. The price per coil is only about $1.50 each so not much lost is they don't work.
  21. We sell coil wire used for making weedguards. Without knowing the diameter I cannot say which size it it but they are at the following link. http://www.barlowstackle.com/Stainless-Steel-Coil-Wire--P909C124.aspx
  22. I made some of these last year and found that the wire was not a stiff as I wanted so I went back and made more but I put 2 wires in each of them...they worked much better.
