  1. When you are using gel super glue to glue your weed guards to your jig heads. Set them in front of a fan to dry to prevent the white residue. It is caused by the fumes the glue gives off.
  2. I read another post and learned a few things. The fan trick jeeps the white residue off when using super glue. But I had some 2 part epoxy and tried it and it works great but I couldn't mix a lot at a time because it dries so quick. Thanks guys.
  3. I just made a post about this same topic and you guys answered all my questions. I will try the fan idea because that whiteness on my jigs isnt perty.
  4. I was told that super glue would be good to use to glue the weed guard to my jigs. It does hold good but when it dries, it leaves a white finish over my jig head. It also dulls my paint. I can get most of it off. What is a better glue to use? I am currently using gorilla glue super glue in gel. Just use a small amount. Thanks.
  5. I just got my lee melting pot and it makes pouring my jigs so much easier than a spoon and iron skillet I was using. I read on another post that they keep it on temp setting 8. Well I poured about 25 jigs with it on 8 and it started to glow. I turned it down a couple notches and it clogged up. I didn't wana burn my house down so I turned it off. Is this normal?
  6. Thanks guys for the help. I think I'll try the mustad hooks. I have a dremmel so if I need to make it bigger I can.
  7. Sorry it took so long to reply. Worked graveyard last night. I used the eagle claw 570 or 575 hooks they are ok for crappie and smaller fish but I need something stronger.
  8. I made some round head jig heads with a 2/0 eagle claw hook. The problem is, I had a big fish pull me across the river and straighten my hook. I know if I would have had a stronger hook, I would have caught that fish. Any recomendations of hooks that will work in a do it round jig mold for 1/8 ounce? Thanks.
