  1. The more I look at it, the more expensive I think that mold should be. The polished surfaces, beveled edges, and engraving make for a premium mold. Kent, may I ask what cnc mill you made that with?
  2. 5 cavity worm mold plus a 10 cavity tail mold... the price seems competitive to me.
  3. The tail and worm body look like they need a better connection point. A butt joint isn't a great connection, and the tail may fall off during normal use. Something protruding from the tail that the worm body can wrap around to create a mechanical connection would be much better. Otherwise, the worm looks good.
  4. Many people use salt to make bagging easier. Oil/scent work as well, but you don't want to use too much. I use 4-6 drops per bag. I put the drops in the bag, then I close the bag so the drops spread out on both sides. Then I place dry baits into the bag and they don't stick. I also don't get oil all over my hands since I only handle dry baits.
  5. This is an old thread, but I'll contribute anyway. If you don't want to order in high quantities and you don't want the clear bags that Barlows and other retailers sell, you can try wormbags.com. They have some black bags that look custom once you put your sticker on them. The benefit is you can get small quantities in the sizes you need without a large upfront cost. I recently switched to them and like them. I don't sell baits though, personal use only. If you actually use ten thousand bags a year, then order custom bags from China.
  6. Solid black shell. Cut both ends off before you shoot blue pearl. You will have a black worm with two blue tips, great for wacky rigging. You can't see the core.
  7. Baits that I made with MF plastic would usually have oil in the bottom of the bag, even if I didn't add scent. They just seemed to leach out some oil as time passed. Maybe Zoom uses MF? Bait plastics and dead-on plastics stay dry and will absorb added scent. As long as you use a strong scent and put it in a laminated worm bag with a zipper, it will hold its scent after it looks like it has dried out. I've used clear bags for a long time but recently switched to a black and silver bag from wormbags.com. They all work well.
  8. Update: I received my order yesterday. I assumed I would never get it and the money was gone. I wasn't too concerned about it, getting invaded by Russia is a valid excuse to not fulfill orders. I was very surprised when I found the box on my doorstep. I ran all 3 aluminum molds today and they shot perfect. I might place another order just to help the cause.
  9. Without thinking, I placed an order from baitmold.com several weeks ago. Then I realized they are in the Ukraine. I emailed them about my order and they responded today. I will patiently wait for my order. Hopefully they are staying safe and their lives return to normal soon.
  10. The 3 and 6oz injectors will both work the dual and triple injector brackets and blending blocks. The 10oz injectors aren't "notched" to ensure they will sit evenly in the brackets. However, I suspect they will work if care is taken to make sure they are aligned properly and securely clamped.
  11. +1 Also, you might be applying too much pressure when injecting.

  13. I make my own baits mostly just for myself but I also make some for a few guys in my club. I sell to them at cost. More recently word has spread and others have started asking me to make them baits. I've been making some profit on those orders but not much. This got me thinking about what I'm allowed to sell and what I'm not. (lets just forget the fact I don't have a business license) I'm pretty sure I'm not allowed to sell senkos using the official senko mold from Do-it, but what about other molds? Is everything else fair game to sell? Some of the molds out there are obviously rip-offs of name brand baits (like the BT roboworm copy for example) and I'm curious to know if those molds are off limits for selling baits also.
  14. Red with black pearl? I've never tried it but in the mental image I have right now it looks great!
  15. 10oz injector? That thing must be huge. I suggest you try the different salts and see what your preference is, any of them will work. Microwave will be more than fine. You only need a pot if you plan on doing larger production runs. I stir with a cheap butter knife, its flat on both sides which makes it easier to wipe off excess plastic. Make sure you have at least two Pyrex or Ancor measuring cups to heat up the plastic in.
  16. Try this guy: http://baitmold.com/custom-bait-molds/ Not aluminum but it might be an acceptable and cheaper alternative.
  17. Amazon has deals on them sometimes. I snagged one for 16.99 + free shipping.
  18. I emailed BT and they said the two color blending block does work with the triple injector. (minus one injector of course) So this: https://www.basstackle.com/TRIPLE_INJECTOR_p/tripleinjector.htm plus this: https://www.basstackle.com/Blending_Block_p/blendingblockdual.htm should be everything needed to shoot 2 or 3 color laminates. I placed an order for both so I'll find out for sure once they get here.
  19. I've been injecting with a single do-it injector for a few years and I figure it's a good time for me to start making double and triple laminates. My question is if I buy the BT triple injector will the BT dual color blending block fit on it? I'm trying to avoid buying both the full triple and double injector setups. Thanks.
  20. Nobody sells baits from either of these molds? If anyone on these boards has either of these molds I'd send some $ your way for a few samples.
  21. I'm looking to buy a mold similar to the 6 inch roboworm. I'm wondering if you guys know of anyone who sells baits made with the BTS 155 mold or the Bass Tackle 156 mold? I'd like to buy a pack of each and check them out.
  22. Maybe dip the nose is a harder plastic? A harder outer coating might be enough to achieve the desired result.
