Probably not what you are looking for, but I have had nice success with induction plates that you see advertised on tv. You can control the temp via keypad and it stays within +/- 5 degrees. They came with non-stick induction pots and pans for a few buck more. Works great for melting anything from chocolate without the double boiler and plastics for baits. My 10 yr old daughter melts crayons into coconut oil and vaseline to make lipsticks. It works, and the PID is built in. On a side note, I do PID controls as part of my job for large gas fired burners and heaters, as well as PID control for driers and coolers on a large industrial scale. If anyone has any questions or needs to understand how this works, let me know. IF I don't have an answer, I have resources that do.

Just wanted to say hello. I don't usually join forums and such, but to access some of the pics, tutorials and such, well, you have to join. I have been making my own tackle from the age of 8 when I ordered a copy of Jann's a long time ago from the back of a Fur Fish and Game Mag. I pour lead jigs, tie buck-tails, carve musky baits, and pour plastics. Back in my childhood it was purely financial. Little money, one must improvise. Today it is just cause tackle-making is a disease I am burdened with. Only the next lure can make me high again. The craftsmanship on here is phenomenal. Glad to have found this site. Shared my space in the basement with two cats for a while. Wife kept wanting to take them to the vet cause of the hair loss. Made some nice nymph flies with calico dubbing during their stay. Cat's don't seem to like me anymore.Vet said they had a nervous condition he had never seen before. My black lab was also missing hair at the time. Space is pet free now....just the way I like it.
