  1. Great lures, Im sure you will fit right in, thanks for the intro. My ex girly was from lima and oh how i miss her, best dam chef ive ever been with and a few other things
  2. LOL!!! ya my vocab is of a youngin and I tend to exaggerate. I dont blast em just swift passes. MY AIRBRUSH THOUGH doesnt want to shoot wicked platnium! i just took it apart completelty and let it soak over night. Gonna put it back together and see whats going on. Just air comes out no paint. I even took out the needle and no paint WHAT THE HECK so far airbrushing has really hurt me so far in this endeavor. maybe I shouldnt of bought used IDK
  3. No flipping, Lures arent that heavy.... yet... I will dbl check though, I also have a heat gun, While it rotating do I blast em a little to get the bubbles out?
  4. The leak has suprisingly stopped. Twas a small leak, and it may have been user error as the screw was backed out quite a bit, maybe it starts leaking on me again today we will see. But I bought an expensive brush for convince not complications!! it was used so maybe its my bad.
  5. Thats the lure turner, if you have any idea on how to get more lures on it LMK. Kinda rushed it cuz I just wanna finish a dang lure!! SO for the envirotex, warm it up mix it evenly let sit for 20 mins after mixing? put on light coat, oil free brush. ( i think its here i messed up, as I glopped the stuff on I thought thats how it worked!) Let turn 8 or some odd hours? UNRELATED: whats the best surface to paint onto? a coat of etex or the wood with some glue in the pores?
  6. #27. must be a oring in there? nice graph. I also get bubbled from the nozzle area when I am back flushing
  7. Guys me again, So my Iwata HP CH is leaking a few drops of paint out of the paint control screw whats wrong here? anyone know any good iwata paint gun guides for my gun? what would be the best place to send this or where do I get parts to do it myself? and then I eventually did get a lure painted, used enviro on it, just mixed some A and some B evenly. the lure turner is pretty med speed id say about 6-8 rotations a minuite? when i got back to the lure turner the enviro gobbled up a ton on one side. I had the lure turner turning for 12 hours. It was also pretty cold outside I am in Portland Oregon. Any help to make that envirotex turn nicely?
  8. Same here, Believe I got a good connector I needed a female and female piece, I think it was orchad supply.
  9. thank you bob... you never hesitate to answer. thanks again. so i will change props out and try and ballast it some more, hope that helps.
  10. Also I am using a tung oil concoction for a sealer for these basswood topwater lures, and etex as a topcoat, should i be using thinned etex for a sealer as well? i might seal with the oil, do a etex coat, paint, and another coat of etex, is this a good process? and i also still need a lure turner, is there one i can just buy or make for around $20? really would rather buy but if i gotta make it then so be it.
  11. Hey guys, I almost have some completed lures to show off, but i am really waiting for the actions to be perfected, with that being said i need some help in relation to testing. when finding the top of the wood a process that I read is important, If im lathing a spook style top water lure, and want to find thetop before I drill hardware, Can i put it in water without sealent quickly to find the top? how do guys find the top to blocks of wood they want too carve into a lure? I would seal before drilling hardware to find the top, but then I just need to seal it again after hardware I dont wanna do the extra step. Also I bought lexan(polycarbonate?) from home depot, its areound .10" thick, I wanna make rats and slammers, those lips look thicker, where do i get some thicker lips? and also the lip material I had scratched from anything... is this normal? I feel like my lures that i bought lips do not scratch as easily as the material I have. where can I get some different stuff? and how do i buff out the burred edges giving it that new look? I cannot express how this stuff scratches on anything, cant be the same product all the manufactured lures got.... I made a large propbait with the LPO props on each side. has a spook look to it but it rolls over when it gets any speed on its retrieve! i weighed the bottom and still its rolls over alot onto one side, the lures left side if that matters, gonna get a pic of the lure in question and post it, thanks alot im assuming just to balance to lure in the middle since i want a straight retrieve. thanks guys this has been quite the test. If you need me to clarify anything please dont hesitate. Im sure I will be back on to ask something else I forgot... If it wasnt for TU I never would of even made it this far.
  12. yes I do have a little shake (15 years of wrestling hard working out) and if i need to make a steady stream ill just 2 hand it maybe. idk ill get the hang of it. Im very excited i am wondering whats a better base to paint off of? envirotex or wood thats been sealded with marinelox. I have about 20 blanks pumped out on the lathe and am waiting for materials and tools..... The lathe has been tons of fun.... I need new tools as you could have a PHD in the art of sharpening alone... and i think i ruined them on my current sharpener. luckily my grandpa passed down a adjustable spead water cooled sander with a leather wheel or something? idk but its good for sharpening just... just need a jig and il have perf angles everytime also it needs a new white wheel if anyone knows where to get those.... Im learning something new everytime i hit the lathe... I now realize when people just say go out and do it. theres truly no way to ever type everything. it must be EXPERIENCED. you guys have helped make this experience possible. thanks agian.
  13. SO with all being said I am leaning towards the iwata HP CH with the .03mm nozzle. I love it when you guys take off with my topics on your conversations... I have learned a TON from this thread. thank you all again
