For highlights I like to use Pearl Ex powder. You can apply a tiny amount on a specific area on a freshly painted bait and them add your clear coat or you can mix it into your clear coat.

Here is a crawdad I painted by wiping off the paint. I painted the blank base white and heat set. then I painted it pearl lime, heat set then I put some Windex on a paper towel and wiped off certain spots so it gets to the layer before it.Then I sprayed transparent red and wiped off certain spots. Then cranberry and wiped off certain spots, heat setting in between colors. then on top I dabbed black with a paper towel and wiped some off. Painted the claw tips blue and added the black spots with a Sharpe and clear coated. The last two pictures show the same technique with lighter colors.

If you used water base paint under the Devcon on a plastic bait put it in a container with denatured alcohol but, keep the bill out of it. A couple hours later the paint will fall off.

I usually tell people I need half the money up front to start the painting process and I will send them pictures when finished. At that time I would need the balance before shipping.

I takes me about 5 min. I have the Harbor freight large blast cabinet.

DaleSW, You are correct. This will only work on water base painted lures.
On some lures I blast off the paint with Black beauty or salt at 45 psi in a blast cabinet.

To remove all the paint on a PLASTIC bait . I put it in a solvent proof container and I put in Denatured alcohol. Stop just before the bill. If it goes on the bill it will leave the plastic chalky white and it will not come off. Leave it in there for 2, 3 or 4 hours, depending on the thickness of your clear coat. The paint will just crack and literally fall off. It does not melt or disfigure the plastic. The body will have a chalky white residue you can smooth down with a scotch bright pad then repaint your lure.

I put 3 to 4 drops of denatured alcohol when i mix the epoxy. It lets it flow and any bubbles will come to the surface and pop.
