The UV resin on the first link just have a hint of oder, just like 5 minutes epoxy. The Solarez, second link, is the one that have strong odor.
  2. I have the Saltwater Edge that smalljaw mentioned above. It can hold up to 16 oz jig with 10/0 hook no problem.

I use this particular brand https://www.ebay.com/itm/25-200g-Epoxy-UV-Resin-Ultraviolet-Curing-Solar-Cure-Sunlight-Activated-Hard-hot/192558431358?hash=item2cd5607c7e%3Am%3AmJD-PoN2EW7s5v80hz_F3BA&var=492671366421&_sacat=0&_nkw=UV+Resin+Ultraviolet+Curing+Resin&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313. As far as I know, it does not yellow. It is cured with UV Flash light or sun light. Curing with UV light will results in a tacky finish to the touch. Put it out in the sun for 15 minutes, and it's hard like a rock. Very little odor, just like 5 minutes epoxy. I also have a can of this https://www.ebay.com/itm/Solarez-Clear-Casting-UV-Resin-Gallon/232860562944?hash=item3637923600%3Ag%3AX-8AAOSwg3FUbPxF&_sacat=0&_nkw=solarez+casting+resin&_from=R40&rt=nc&_trksid=m570.l1313 This one is slightly more runny. Curing is the same as the above, but it is very strong in odor. Must work outdoor. You can dip your jigs in this one, but I don't like the fume. I will not buy this again after it's done. It is also hard like a rock after curing. The reason I like UV curing is the instant cure, so you don't need a rotating device. There is no mixing and no waste.
  4. Any one knows if you can use water based polyurethane wood finish for head cement? I want to find something not so strong in odor. I've been using nail polish, but the odor is just too strong. I know Loon makes a water based head cement, but I'm looking for something cheaper.
  5. The Hagens does look better. If my TwisTech ever breaks down, I'm going for a Hagens.
  6. I have this one and like it very much.
  7. I got my vise today. It held a 12 oz jig head with 10/0 hook no problem. I gently press the jig head and it did not slip. I then added 4 oz sinker to the 12 oz jig head, to make it 16 oz. It held fine also. There is still room in the adjustment screw to hold larger hook. I'm satisfied with it. Thanks BLT for the recommendation.
  8. My Saltwater Edge vise will be here next week. I'm excited. I'll just need to cast some jigs this weekend.
  9. Thanks for the info. I'll go with the saltwater edge then. I tie mostly up to 12 oz, but the bulk is around 8 oz. If it doesn't hold 16 oz, I'll use a vise grip. I have another vise that hold smaller hooks, so I'm covered. I know it holds large hooks, just not sure if it holds large hooks with a chunk of lead. You just answered that, big thanks.
  10. I got spoiled by my normal rotary vise :). I need a larger rotary vise. I found something slightly cheaper than the Peak vise, and it said for bucktails jigs and hook size up to 9/0. https://saltwateredge.com/collections/fly-tying/products/saltwater-edge-rotary-jig-vise. This rotary vise is more on axis than the Peak, but the Peak does look like it have better grip.
  11. Thanks bryanmc for the link. I'll see if I can dig up some review on that vise. @ LimpNoodle, 4 to 16 Oz jigs. Hooks size to 10/0. Anyone else have other vise recommendations? Any diy vise to share?
  12. I'm looking for a jig vise that can hold heavy jigs. This looks like a vise that can hold heavy jigs. Any one got one? I'm tempted to buy one to tie some heavy saltwater jig from 4 oz to 16 oz. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01LG4PP6W/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2NFPA6A0EUMO0&psc=1
  13. Never mind, I found the search button :). Sorry, a total noob on this site.
  14. Hi All, My first post here. Is there a foil holographic tape out there? I can level a foil duct tape pretty well onto an 8 oz jig, but not so much for the holographic tape that is vinyl. Any tips for leveling a vinyl tape?
