  1. Its basically just the same concept as cyklone paint mixer's drill inserted prop. Ive just got the drill where it can be attatched to the bucket in a fixed locked in position, or detached for getting any stubborn plastic that may be hidding in the seems at the bottom of the bucket. Cyklones prop looks lik this " _|_" i just added 2 small blades out of some scrap, 6in above the 2 main bottom blades. It works good. Hope this helps. Now, ive got a shooting star injection system made by Rupert at Ultra Molds which has 2 drums with a motor that is fixed ontop of each lid with a sail stlye blade that continuously Stirrs the plastic while heating. And its top knotch desgin if you want to get into somthing more detailed and advanced
  2. And I'm not too proud to admit I'm not a maker, im more of a designer and innovator. But one cannot exist without the other. I believe they both inspire each other
  3. Everybody new that I talk to gets me a step closer to my obtainable goals. I'm also not a veteran per se meaning I don't have 30 years under my belt but I will offer any knowledge I have to any one that listens
  4. "Make me a banana split" haha...thanks CNC. Thats one of the best replies ive ever gotten, as far as getting to the meat and potatoes of the subject. I can never thank someone enough when I'm going down the wrong direction on a one-way Street and then someone with more knowledge and experience turns me around. Save me a lot of miles. You know I always appreciate it!
  5. We never talked about any kind of one-off payment, we we never even talked about payment at all. This feels awfully like a trap for you to let everyone know that you are a "Open Source" man and it's at my expense. You disrespect my Integrity my moral fiber and my character over a single post. You may have 45 years in the business but give me 10 minutes and I'll teach you some manners. We don't treat each other down here in Alabama like that. This is a sad attempt I believe that you trying to say face because maybe you messed up on this site before. This is my first day it will be my last. I'll be making that 3D rod and will be on we'll be on YouTube open source the entire process everybody who helped on my other posts I appreciate you all's input Vanilla Gorilla
  6. Hey you need to calm down . Who's the say that you're going to do all the contributions? I have no idea who I've even talkin to? Are you mr. Loomis? If you refer to my post above I clearly stated open source was fine with me. You responded is it going to be a commercial Venture or open source. You said you were good either way. I don't care if you have 45 years in the business oh, let me tell you something sir you stand on Shaky Ground if you're open source don't say commercial or open-source is good with you. By the we sure really ruined this thread
  7. But I still would like to find a way to keep it open source just not step by step by step by step but keeping informative on what we're doing so we can continue to educate anyone else is interested in doing something like we are. And if somebody wants to jump in and collaborate as they see our progression I think that would be beneficial.
  8. Since fishing products are my business, and i believe there may be a niché with possibilities. I would rather make this a commercial venture. I think its possible to create something ICAST worthy. And of course payment of your time and innovation will be compensated, inforced by contactual agreement and/Or creation of an LLC.
  9. Well, the business side of me is hesitant. But I believe this site is for knowledge of fishing in all aspects of it, which supersedes my own personal wants. So yea, lets keep it open in hope for a greater impact of our industry. Im def fine with that. This could get interesting...
  10. Thanks for the warm welcome and i think im gonna enjoy this site. I'm always seeking knowledge and looking for new twists on favorites. I would love to design for one of the big companies one day. Or better yet I would love to out design the big companies. I realize the fishing industry is a very hard one to gain notoriety and credibility. But I'm dedicated I will keep pushing the boundaries and make a difference in the industry that I love
  11. My brothers compamy has 13 3D printers at my disposal. I will get back to you shortly about the information requested. I would love for someone like you being a design engineer to get both hands involved. Myself, own a custom design and injected soft plastic company in which I designed all my baits. So I have a bit of design skills. I'm currently looking into some different materials that might be unconventional but will do the job respectfully
  12. Thanks for sharing your experiance. I built stirrer with a little motor that attaches to the bucket. It mixes pretty good. But of course I got to give her the old hand stir test afterwards. "You gotta shake it before you bake it"
  13. Does anyone have any experience in making a rod on a 3D printer? If so what all materials did you use? Pros and cons?
  14. "Maybe one day your top 5 will require a 5 gallon bucket each and you wont have to divide em up. " ...Thats awsome you said that. One bag at a time right? And thats great advice and ive already written it down
  15. Thanks Mcluvin175. Well ive got 5 "shelf" colors. And many custom. But my distrubtor and tackle shops always order the "top 5" sellers. This would just save a lot of time if I could just color shoot with the same color in a 1-gallon container instead of doing the drops and mixing in the flake. My main concern is that I have to have every bait in each bag and all my bags the same shade and color for example green pumpkin
  16. Would the plastisol and the coloring stay the same and consistent if i divided 5 gallons, right out of the bucket, into 5, 1gallon containers. But in each one gallon container I would like to go ahead and add the coloring. Wood that store okay as far as shelf life and consistency of the color? I appreciate anyone's opinions, especially if someone is currently doing this and has had no problems or have done it and ran into many problems
  17. I thought id introduce myself before I started navigating and posting on TU. I own a custom designed, hand injected soft plastic lure Company. (W/tungsten). I'm lucky enough to live where my backyard is the Tennessee River. Lake Wilson, Pickwick, and Wheeler lake. I also love traditional bow hunting, and Arrowhead hunting.
