  1. I would love to hear everyones story! Do you have an actual lure business where you make all, or part of your income from lures? Do you just do it as a hobby only? Did it start as a hobby and grow into a business? How many lures to you make in a year? etc. Nobody seems to talk about these things.....com'on guys.....let's have the down and dirty!
  2. I was just wondering if any of you are selling your lures on line. I am thinking about doing just that. Like a lot of people, I have been carving my own lures since I was a kid and I still enjoy it very much. The methods that I use have changed but the love for the hobby is still there. I don't want to try to do it for a living, but I would like to try to sell some on ebay. If anyone could point me in the right direction as far as what to read up on, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Jay
  3. Hi everybody! I am new to the forum and lure making for that matter too. I have the first dozen or so wooden lures under my belt and they came out pretty darn good (if I do say so myself) lol It is the VERY early stages of my little business. I know competition is really tuff and I don't expect to get rich or break all records. What I am hoping for is selling enough lures to help supplement my retirement coming in another 18 months or so. Three or four hundred dollars a month would make me really happy. I know not to expect that at all for a while, but I have a year and a half to "grow" my business. My question is, where do most of you sell your lures? Are sites like E-bay or Etsy successful? I have several connections at local bait shops and can probably get my lures in them, but hate to sell wholesale, and I know that would only be a few lures here and there. Do you have success with your own website? Just what has worked well for others in here? Oh, and I am sure these questions have been asked and answered before, so I tried to find a search option for topics but can't figure out a way to do a search. Thanks for any help you can be.....and by the way....this is a GREAT site!
  4. I have been pouring my own soft plastics for 2 years now and have been very successful on both pouring and catching fish on these items. Now I have a few other anglers interested in putting my baits in their local tackle shops. I have a brand name that I would like to trademark but was wondering what other issues I may run into or want to do. Would starting an LLC be an option?
