  1. While my Trout spoon is drying, I'll go on with my other design, weedless swimbait. Weedless in a sence hooks are on the backside, kind of what you'd do with your soft baits. Hooks are attached to line, which runs along the backside of the bait, kept in place with small bits of silicone. Trying to get that perfectly balanced, three section swimbait. This is a small design, only 10cm (4") long, so it's going to be nitty pitty operation to get this swim right. But if I get this right, it's going to be one of the best hard baits I know. Cast, wait for it to slowly sink to bottom, then walk it slow or fast. You can get this where the big fish are, very close to bottom, with greatly reduced risk of getting it stuck on weeds etc and losing it for good. Although, I have to say, this might end up to be an epic fail... Carved and ready for the next steps After making the channel for the wire and hooks to attatch, and sealing the bait. Updating this as often as I get something done but it's probably going to be a slow project. Cheers, Jarmo from O'baits
  2. THE LINE ATTACHES DIRECTLY TO THE WEEDLESS SPRING HOOK. THE SPOON IS FREE TO WOBBLE ERRATICALLY ON THE WIRE. BECAUSE OF THIS FEATURE THE FISHERMAN CAN STAY IN DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE LURE AT ALL TIMES AND NEVER HAS TO FISH WITH SLACK LINE. IN THE LOADED CONDITION THE LURE HAS A SMALL PROFILE BUT WHEN TRIGGERED IN THE MOUTH OF THE FISH THE HOOK. DEPLOYS INTO A WIDE "FISH HOOKING ARAY". THE HOOK STANDS UP LIKE A COBRA READY TO STRIKE. ADDING A TRAILER ONLY MAKES THE LURE BETTER !!
  3. Several years ago there was a little mom and pop tackle shop down the road from the house. It was expensive as heck but I went there when I wanted a good conversation, a great cup of coffee, and an impossible to find anywhere jig head. The owner said he got the lead heads from a friend out of state who poured them. The packaging wasn't that great but plastic bags and paper tags don't go on the end of a hook. Most of us remember the old school weedles worm hooks that had the saftey pin type wire that came down and looped over the barb of the hook, well this jig head was almost identical to a Hogie jig head with the spring lock instead of a lead collar, and the same kind of weed guard as those ol' weedless worm hooks. I kept the packaging for years so I could try and find some more when I ran out but after fishing a few tournaments in the rain, my tackle bag (where I kept the packaging) got soaked and as a result the ink on the packaging was lost. I am desperately trying to find these jig heads again and have considered trying to find a mold and modify it to accept the spring locks and weed guard wire. Can anybody help me find a company who makes such a jig head. I have found Hogie, Norton, and it is very similar to the Predator heads. PLEASE HELP ME
