willgohome
I fish for salt water striped bass and picking up seaweed and getting hooked on snags is a major problem because the hook is big and sticks out of the 7 inch "bass assasin" spearing imitation type lure. Just ordered a 7 inch silicone mold from lurecraft which I will modify for a hook slot but will put it on the top of the lure. I think I can do this by inserting a piece of aluminum in the bottom of the mold. At the same time I will cut away a bit of the silicone around the aluminum which will be in the shape of a dorsal fin. Hopefully I will end up with a lure that has a slot in the dorsal fin for the hook barb to hide in and somewhat eliminate the weed and snags. We shall see. I'll let you know how it turns out. BTW, I posted a story about nightime striped bass fishing in the articles section. Take care all, Tight lines. Will J
