Its been a while since Ive made any soft plastic baits, but Im about to move to a location where the bass are plentiful, so Im looking forward to getting back into the hobby. I still have alot of mold old molds, but Ive noticed alot of the websites are no longer around (Bear Baits and Del Mart just to name a few). But i remember you could buy a Presto Fry Daddy from your local walmart then go online to a certain website and get a doohickey (yes, thats a word) made to fit on the top of the fry daddy that will constantly stir you plastic at a low speed, in order for the plastic not to burn. Problem is, I cannot find it anywhere. Is it no longer available? is there something better in its place?
Hey guys, I have been making jigs for a little while now and started getting that down and wanted to expand into making soft plastic baits. I started off with just getting bass tackles starter kit, I've watched a lot of videos on shooting plastics and read up a lot. I'm having a problem with when I shoot the bait and pull it after its set up a bit there are air pockets in the rib on the bait but only on the top. I got the 3.5 BT bomb and it's a side injection mold. I've tried pouring the plastic into the injector, sucking up the plastic, and the rate at which I inject. I always top off the spur but I always have the air bubbles in the same place. Can anyone lend me some advice as to what the issue might be? It would be a great help. Thank you guys very much!!
Not perfect, but it's awesome. After making my master out of craft Popsicle sticks and clay, making a mold out of POP, I have finally made my bait. Thanks to this website to which I came across less than a week ago I have achieved success. Thanks to those on tis site for help, especially Mantase and the videos from his website. I was trying to use silicon caulk and mess to make my mold, but it was a terrible episode of Breaking Bad
