  1. i tried a few different ways with no success so I purchased famowood glaze coat and it works pretty well. a few drips but, ill eventually get a motor the spins the baits so ill be able to keep all of the epoxy on the lure
  2. the kinds i have are waterbased, its the rustoleum brand poly. but what do you think is causing the finish not to be smooth?
  3. hmm funny that i couldn't get a hold of them.. anyway i purchased some from predator bass baits. looking forward to painting them!
  4. has anyone used polyurethane as a topcoat? I have a few cans lying around for wood projects and was curious.. I did however dip a test lure in and let it hang to dry and it seems like it could work but im getting the "orange peel" effect from what I guess is too think of a coat. i dipped it a few more times and it seemed to smooth things out a bit but not completely. I don't care about the look of the finish as long as it is hard and glossy, but if i were to give them to friends or sell them i want a nice smooth finish...like epoxy but i ran out the other day and decided to try this out.

this is prob the 10th bait ive painted...how does it look? it runs good and catches fish. any thoughts of a selling price?
  6. yea Jake is awesome and I get good quality baits pretty quick from him. im new to this and id like to start painting/ selling more. and right now im giving them to friends to try them out. ill post a few pictures of them so you all can tell me how they look and I know they catch fish, but I have no idea what I would sell them for.
  7. I have been painting a few lures lately and a few buddies have been requesting more, so im looking for bulk baits. ive been buying from Dakota lakes, and cant justify the 1.50$ and up when I want to buy 100+ at a time. I found Nitro Lures, and cant seem to get ahold of anyone there. on their site you can purchase the baits for around $.25 each. im not too concerned about buying knockoffs, I haven't had problems with the ones ive used in the past. so if anyone has any advice of where to look, I would love to know! thanks!
