  1. Sounds like fun, Again, All I make are Senkos. But they are some killer bass baits! Just the right mix!! Luke
  2. Docirv, I pour all my senkos with different size Pyrex measuring cups. Why don't you get a small one just to pour your tips and use your pro pot for the bodies? I have poured tips with no veins, you just need a steady hand and you must have the mold straight. Then you can angle it under your pot to finish. I assumed you knew how to heat in a pyrex cup in the microwave. If not, look around there are a ton of posts in here that will explain it to you. Hope this helps! Luke
  3. Hello, Senkos sink mainly due to salt and/or sand content. The type of plastic will make a slight difference but not enough to omitt the salt and/or sand. I and most others, use only salt in my senkos. It gets them to sink just the way I want and it acts as an attractant. Try 1/3 cup fine ground salt to 1/2 cup plastic. That should get you close and you can experiment on your own to get your personal preferences. Practice!!! Luke
  4. Del, You didn't state how much plastic to use. Would you please? Sounds like about a cup but please tell us. Thanks Luke
  5. Bassboy, I have a Del-mart mold and its great! I'll put the link in here. Luke www.del-mart.com
  6. Guys, Definately fishing slow here! All I do is throw the senko near some good looking weeds and watch my line as the bait drops. When I see a twitch; SET THE HOOK!!! Pretty simple fishing. I caught a 5lb 9oz bass yesterday morning and a 5lb 12oz bass last night. I love these baits!! Luke
  7. Hey guys, I am having an awfull time trying to get a watermelon senko. I have tried for awhile with no good results. I made some a while back but didn't write it down. I have sice gone through over 5 mixes and I'm not close. All looks good untill I add the red flake, then it turns very dark(lure craft flake). I am using 1/2 cup plastic, 12 drops heat stab, 1 1/2 teaspoon red flake, and 6 drops watermelon color. I have also tried 9 drops, 12 drops 18 drops 24 drops. I am also using 1/3 cup salt. I add the salt first and it looks good then the flake and it turns on me. Luke
  8. Celticav, I just use no name brand from the grocery store or morton's iodized salt. I gring it in a coffee grinder, but not much! They have come out great and really catch fish, I am just trying to perfect things I just got off the lake I live on, I caught 7 bass including a huge 19.5" 5lb 9 oz monster! Yup, they work! Luke
  9. Hello everyone!, I was wondering what most people use to make senkos. I am in Maine and I know that things are different on the west coast. Does anybody know what is most popular on the east coast? I am having some problems with the #536, it doesn't hold up due to all the salt I add. I am hoping that the #502 plastic will work better for me. Maybe even add less salt and have an easier time pouring. I just ordered the 4 gallon case of #502 yesterday. I figure if it is too tough I can just add softener. Luke
  10. Chris, Thanks for the tips, I'll try them out. Hope you and your family all the best! Luke
  11. Thanks, Think I will use up 1 2 oz color and then clean it out. Take an unopened color and drop by drop, fill the other bottle. Should do the trick. As for glitter, same deal with a teaspoon should get and idea. I think I am around $.06-.07 a worm. Sound right to you guys? You probably do it a little cheaper by the larger quantities. Luke
  12. Guys, Thanks for all your replies!! LC's salt is definately too expensive. I buy no name brand stuff at the grocery store at 26oz for $.50, LC is much more then the shipping. I asked the grocery store for popcorn salt but no one has heard of it. Nor has wal-mart. I do like my salt pretty coarse, I pour only senkos right now. I don't know if the popcorn salt may even be too fine for me! I want the salt to be noticable in the senko, feel it and see it when I hook the senko. Luke
  13. Hey guys, Can any one tell me a good grinder to get? Wal-mart didn't have any others. thanks Luke
  14. Chris, Yeah, we don't get a break buying a pound even though to us little guys it sounds like alot. Thats ok, I am happy making my worms at $.08 to $.10 each instead of buying them at $.60 or $.70 each!! Luke
  15. Hey guys, I wanted to let you all know that I bought a GE one touch coffee grinder and it doesn't work after 2 weeks of use grinding salt. I am going to return it today and try another one. This one was $20. Luke
