  1. Mesa,

CREATEX paints are anything but "watered-down" anything. They are the state of the art acrylic paints, the absolutely finest on the market. The other paints in Wal-Mart, as you mention, are actually the "watered down" brands, hence, cheaper.

ALL acrylic paints can be thinned or watered down with water. However, once they dry, water will not dissolve them. An Acrylic paint is essentially the same, whether its for portrait painting or anything else.

  2. Trick Trout,

I'm in awe of your 5 piece. I don't understand it's construction, because it seems with horizontal pins it would have no side motion at all; but obviously it does work and I congratulate you on an inspiring work. Maybe some day I will be able to do one also.

  3. But Rich,

I weighed a watermelon-sized bag of packing peanuts today and I don't think it weighed even 2 oz. The ratio of 1/2 pint of lacquer sealer to 8 oz Styrofoam.........it just seems like an awful lot of styrofoam to try and dissolve in 1/2 pint of fluid. If I were drinking Jim Beam, I know I could perform this miracle, but sober, I think it's about impossible!

  4. Nathan,

I don't tink it's an issue of stirry epoxy or anythin like that, cause shekeldorf glump drat bongle dinny plut stat, an I'm dooin jes fine! Making Lures hasn't hasn't hasn't affected me a dibble-dabble tribble trabble bit, not one stirring Dremel!

This here trouble hook is a Mustad . It's the most trouble in a hook I've ever had. If the question isn't answered soon, I'll lose sleep tonight.

    Just see if anyboddy cares.

  5. Nathan,

(((grin))) I can't help but feel stupid. I thought I knew everything, and now these red sleeves come along and I'm slightly (only slightly) beginning to doubt my omnipotence. I'm smart enough to choose EnviroCon Epoxy, or DevTex Epoxy; why can't I figure out this red sleeve thing?

But you know what? Nobody else knows the answer either,.....I bet!

  6. I cannot believe I'm really this dumb, but....

Stamina sent me these nice treble WEEDLESS hooks. Got a little wire over the point, but also a little red plastic "sleeve" that covers both wire end and hook point. My question is, do I leave the plastic sleeve on the treble, or remove it for fishing?

[Nature compensated for my stupidity by making everyone else in my family smart; but since Nature gave me good looks & money..................................who cares? :D ]

  7.

...well, I've studied both sides of the controversy and am now full enlightened as to the PROS & CONS of using Devcon & Etex; so now I can say with pride, that I will only use either DEV-TEX or EV-CON on all my hardbaits.

[Whoever said a newby has to be confused? ]

  8. Richoc,

Well, mind you, when I get some hard rock maple, I figure the only way I can do this justice is to take it to the professional woodworking shop to cut it down to workable size. Ya gotta respect wood like that.

The most common tree here is the Chinese Elm. It's an odd tree. It grows big, but can also grow like a weed too. There's lots of little ones from 3/4" to 2" in diameter. I'm going to dry some of that and try it too. I guess carving wood is about the neatest thing since the invention of the Executive Torlet . :D
