I would like to purchase some Fenwick "Fenglass" #748 Blanks. These blanks are 7 feet long and #8 power. The blanks are goldish-brown in color. If you know where I can find some please let me know.

Up until about 10 or 12 years ago, Fenwick made some fiberglass rod blanks that were a light brown color. If I rember correctly these fiberglass blanks we used to build spinnerbait rods with were numbered. Seems like they may have been a #877 or #878. Anyone got a clue which blanks I am refering to?

I asked this question A few weeks back but I don't know where it went so here we go again. I need to find a source that can mke me a spinnerbait with a very specific head design. Back in the '70's Cotton Cordell marketed these spinnerbaits as follows. The 3/8 or 1/2 oz. version was called the "Spyder" and the 5/8oz. version was called the "Scorpion" or maybe "Tarantula". Both sizes used 0.40 wire and the skirt was tied with flat rubber so that you did not have that many strands of rubber but maybe only 8 or so strands of the wide rubber. We use them for night fishing. I have examples of the heads & wire I could send someone for reverence and would be glad to purchase them. I purchased some custom painted Rapala DT-10's off e-bay a few months back. One the painter did in a bream pattern and it is AWESOME...If I had any idea how to post a picture for you to look at I would. Maybe I can get my daughter to do it for me in a couple of days. The painter initled his work right under the diving bill on the baits belly. His initals ar CC. I have tried finding the guy thru e-bay with no luck so far. Anybody got a clue who this painter might be? I would love to have some other lures done in this bream color pattern.

Guy's, I got some 1 oz. Ledge Buster Chatterbaits. Problem is the heads on all of the baits are painted black. I want topaint them white with powder paint but since I don't know what type of paint they used on the original heads (it dosw not look like powder paint...more like vynal or epoxy) do you still think I can heat the head and dip it in white powder pait and it work ok? I have a few of the original Chatter Bait 1 oz. Ledgemaster Chatterbait lures. The ones I have left have black painted heads from the factory. I would like to repaint te heads to white. What solvent would be best to use yo help remove the black original paint and what paint (epoxy, etc) would be best to use for painting the hrads white? I have several older crankbaits that I have used on and off over the years. Some of them I haven't used in some time and I had left them in a tackle box where the hooks began to rust and over time the clear bills (like the ones on an older Bomber model A ) have kinda yellowed. How can I restore the bills to their clear finish?

I'm trying to find a source for copper wire for tying jig skirts & spinnerbait skirts like that used in the past by Alron Lurer (Jigs) Co. out of Missouri and like that used by War Eagle spinnerbaits. Several people have told me to try stripping the insulation off telephone wire but that copper is just way too soft and when I try and pull it really tight it breaks to easy. Here in Alabama there is a company that makes Franklin Jigs that also uses copper for tying their jig skirts and they are really good. I'm just want to tie up some living rubber skirts on some old Alron heads I have. Anybody know wher I can get the GOOD copper wire for skirt tying?

Can anyone tell me where I might be able to purchase copper wilre for tying rubber skirts on bass flipping jigs? The type of copper wire I am refering to is like that used by Jewel Bait Company for their hand tied Eakins jig. I have been told that the copper wire like that found in telephone wire would work. However when I tried that I could not twist or pull the wire really tight without it breaking. Is their different sizes, strengths, guages etc.? If so what is the best to use?

I have some plastic Twin Tail (Hula Grub Like) baits that were made by Lucky Craft a few years back and marketed as Blaukat's Creature. These are basicly an over sized hula grub. Lucky Craft used a lot of oil on these baits when they were packged. Problem is the heavy amout of oil on the baits cause the large twin tails to stick togather when used on a lead head or behind a jig as a trailer. I have a few that apparently were packaged with no oil and they work loke a charm. Man, these large oversized twi tails can move some water. Anyone have any suggestions as to something I might soak the tails in to help and remove the oil form them? I have tried using some Pro Tec Boat Degreaser on individual baits and then drying them off. Seems to work pretty well but is very time consuming.

Wanting to get a mold so I can pour barbed, round head jig mold so I can pour 1/16, 1/8, 3/16 & 1/4 jigs using a 3/0 Mustad #32756 bronze jig hook with 90 degree line tie. Want the 3/0 hook to be used by each weight head. Any suggestions as to where I could get one made? I've tried the Dremel tool deal on some Do-It molds and if you saw them you would know why I'm asking about purchasing one. I am only going to use the mold for my personal use. No mass production.

Bought a few of these from Northern Bass Supply and I really love them. Trying to find a source for the Hydro Silk skirts in the browm chameleon color. Northern Bass has the brown chameleon color combined with green pumpkin and I have bought some of these to combine to make solid brown chameleon skirts but would like to find another source where I could order the solid color skirt or purchase the Hydro silk material to make my own. I understand they have a road kill color that looks really good also. Anyone know where I might find a source?

Would like to purchase a mold or molds that would allow me to use the older bronze 3/0 Mustad 32756 90 degree hooks. I want round barbed heads in weights of 1/16, 1/8, 3/16 & 1/4 all being able to use the 3/0 hook. Anyone know of anyone or any company I might be able to discuss getting these from?

I'm new to this board and have been reading many interesting post. I just really mess around with old store bought cranks. Paint..AT..a few, add some weight , etc. but am becoming more interested in doing more work on some baits. Does there exist some type of custom tackle builders convention, get together or what ever you want to call it? Steve Griffin, Alabama
