  1. I have been told that worm oil you buy from Del or Lurecraft is just plain old mineral oil(unscented). I have also read that you shouldn't use mineral oil because it will dry out your baits. Does anyone have first hand experience using Mineral oil and what effect it will have on baits. I tried some 2 weeks ago in some baits I made and so far I don't see any problems, will it take longer to show up? Any info would be great.
  2. Thanks for the help guys. I will just continue to pour slow and pay real close attention to the dimples. I am also stirring with wood stir sticks(tongue depressors). I will switch that to a small metal or plastic mixing spoon and see if that helps.
  3. I do heat my mold, it's usually so hot I have to wear gloves. I have noticed when I top it up I don't usually have a problem. Can the salt I add make a difference to this? I'm just wondering if maybe I am getting to many air bubbles when I'm mixing or do you just have to continue pouring real slow.
  4. I am new to hand pouring and I have just started pouring my own Senkos. I purchased a mold from Del as well as my plastic (Calhouns). I have poured a few stix now but I am having a real hard time with small pockets at the end of them. If I work at it really hard I can finally get some good pours but I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. Am I not shaking my plastic enough?, Am I stirring it too much/not enough as I'm heating it?, Am I pouring to fast?. I get my best pours when I pour extremely slow but I'm just wondering if there is something else I am doing wrong. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
  5. Does anyone know where to buy the inserts that have the screw in part of a worm weight. I was told that you pour a worm sinker and then epoxy the insert into the cavity. These weights are expensive and I was told it's because of the time involved in assembly. If I could get the inserts I could make a bunch over the winter when I'm bored.
  6. I'm new to this hand pouring thing and I was just wondering if you can use Garlic Salt for flavor. I like garlic scented baits and I figured you could use a bit of of garlic salt or powder when pouring. Has anyone tried this before : I wonder if it burns when you reach high temps or if it does anything to the plastic that might ruin your pour. Any help would be great.
