  1. If your having trouble keeping your pot clean, try some Plumber's flux, available at home depot or your local hardware store. Apply lots of it to the pot and it will burn off all the slag and excess garbage stuff in your pot. Beware though...you need to do it outside or in a well ventilated area because it will smoke and sometimes sparks a fire in the pot if its really dirty. I do this before every pour and have no problem melting all types of lead from wheel weights to the clean soft stuff.
  2. I'm looking into making molds to pour lead in for making spinners and spinnerbaits as well as other lures. I have a few questions... 1) What type of material should I use to make the mold for pouring the lead? Bondo, RTV, wood/woodfiller...? what else is there? 2) I'm interested in high production...so which is the best for high production? 3) What lubricant should be used to release the poured lead from the mold? 4) How many pours would I be able to get ou tof the mold before it begins to severly wear? I plan on pouring 1/4 oz to 1/2 oz of lead in each mold spot....?
