  1. yeah, figured out pretty quick thats the way to go...
  2. sweet! I dont get down that way too often but I'll keep it in mind. What baits does your company make?
  3. Yeah, I dremeled out mine too, i just layed the wire gaurd where I wanted it and marked it and cut a line, worked great.
  4. Great job CrawChuck! Looks super. Do you think it produces a more consistant tube than dipping? I would think so but I could be wrong. The only drawback is making only one at a time but if its only for personal use (like I would be doing) its really not a big deal. Thanks again, really super!
  5. Thanks guys for the info...
  6. crawchuck...I havent started yet, was wanting some info on where to go and get some dippers, cutters, etc...maybe even a book on how to make tubes? Im wanting to make 3-4" tubes. Any info would be great, thanks!
  7. Ok, Ive searched....doesnt really seem to be as easy as pouring a senko so I guess thats why there isnt much info on making tubes. I know some of you out there make your own tubes....where do I go to find the dippers, cutters, etc...do I have to make it all myself...?
  8. Janns Netcraft, here is the link http://www.jannsnetcraft.com/mustad-aberdeen-jig-hooks/810111.aspx Also, just got an email from their customer support letting me know the 3/0 size wont be ready till 4/15/06! Ive got some other sizes coming in the next few days though....bummer cause I really wanted the 3/0 first! My luck of course.
  9. For those of you that like to pour jig heads with the Mustad 32746BLN but think the shank is a bit too short for some tubes (like me)...I have found an alternative...the 32831BLN. The shank is a 1/4" longer. Ive ordered some so I'll let ya know how they are. Let me know if you want the link to order...tight lines!!!
  10. Not sure why the pics are coming out with the weird coloring...??? A few more heads...
  11. 1/4oz...weight can be adjusted along the shank...
  12. I went out to a stream on my farm today to test some new tube jig heads that I've been making. I was actually just trying out various weights and tube sizes to see what works best when WHAM!!!... a nice little largemouth decided she would like to sample Earthworms/MicroMunch Tackles' 3.25" tube. She hit in slack water and took off in the swift current, great fight! I love these tube jigs, (I'll attach ina nother post) I can adjust the weight up and down the shank. Slide it towards the head if you want a faster fall, slide it back if you want a slow horizontal flutter. I just got some Mustad Black Nickel hooks in various sizes and eye angles and am very excited to start pouring on them. So far, the 90 degree angle seems to work the best, a ton of action as it falls and darts when twiched. Wasnt even looking to catch a fish today...just a bonus! Aint life grand???!!!
  13. Nothing against Eagle Claw, but Im looking for the same hook in black nickel...anyone know of the same hook in a different brand that would work for the weedless satnd up mold from Do-It? Also, do you prefer the yoke style or fibergaurd style? Thanks!
  14. What are your favorite hooks to use in your molds for tube jigs? I mainly fish 3-4" tubes and have just started pouring my own heads, I have a 90 degree do-it pro series tube head mold and have modified it to weedless. (thanks for all the suggestions, works great!!!) Any suggestions as to what hooks I should go with would be appreciated, thanks!!!
  15. Excellent, i do know what that is...I can see where you would need it to do some repairs Thanks again.
  16. Thanks Tally. Not familiar with JB Weld...what is it and where do you get it?
  17. Another great tip, thanks! I'll let ya know how it turns out, mold should be here in a week or so...thanks again.
  18. Hey, great idea! Thanks for the suggestion, will give it a try...hope I dont smash my finger either
  19. Hello! First post here so I hope its in the right spot... Has anyone ever converted a non-weedless jig mold to a weedless head? Someone had mentioned to me a dremel tool will do the trick, any suggestions? The mold is a Do-It tapered tube head (90 degree) and I want to add a single wire guard. Thanks in advance for the replies!
