  1. Just got my Lee Production Pots and have been pouring for about 5 hours. Now that I am a "pro" I have a couple questions about them that I couldn't find any answers for. Hopefully someone out there can help. 1. It takes about 40+ minutes to heat the plastic to a consistency that is pourable. It is normal? 2. I've noticed that the less plastic left in the pan the hotter it becomes. Do you guys turn the heat down gradually as you pour? 3. Also noticed as a result of the plastic getting hotter I'm burning the plastic when I'm almost done with the pot. The tails of the ribbon worms are very noticable. Started with a pale purple tail and it got grey as I get down to about a ounce of plastic in the pot. Soooo I must have the knob set too high (agreed) but it seems to take this setting that high to melt the plastic and keep it thin enough to pour. What do I do to fix this? 4. I use a spoon to stir but the glitter seems to fall to the bottom like a magnet. No matter how much I stir (usually stir every time after a 2 cavity mold pour) it stills collects down there. 5. It seems that I have to use setting ( to initially melt and keep the liquid runny. Normal? Thanks VERY much for your anticipated help !!
  2. Thanks RX. I know experience would have told me how many halves I could pour before the plastic set up but it's good to hear from someone who already did it. Saves the aggravation. Thanks again.
  3. I've been pouring for a few weeks and now am about ready to try 2 color pours. I want the top (black) and the bottom (kinda reddish pink). My mold is 5 1/2" ribbon tail with 2 cavities. My question is: how long can I wait to pour the top color? For instance, let's say I pour the black on both cavities and then go back to pour the red on both cavities. Do I have enough time to do that or should I do one cavity at a time. I just got 2 Lee production pots so I will be using those. What do you guys do? Thanks a lot.
  4. Been pouring worms for about 3 weeks without too much trouble however today I tried to pour "salt & pepper". (clear w/blk flake). I got a green tint to the worm - very noticable. Can anyone tell me why? My plastic was mixed very well, tried salt and then no salt, but that didn't seem to make any difference. The only thing that I can come up with is that there is a color film in the pan because of all the pours. Do you mix salt & pepper with a separate pan? Only thing I can think of. Thanks for your help.
