    This does not really answer the specific question. But fly tye-ers' use a lead wire that is wrapped around the shank of the hook to add weight before tying. So many wraps would equal certain weights. Another option would be a bondo mold. I just made my first bondo mold the other day of a vertical jig, and it turned out pretty good. Fairly easy to do.

    I have soldered hooks on little willow blades. I scored the area on the blade then torched it and used acid core solder. The hooks would bend before it let go.
