  1. Thanks to all who have replied. I will be going to get a pyrex container and a small microwave as I can not us ethe wifes for cooking plastics. Jsc I saw that over at dels sight and I thought maybe I could wing it I should have known better. It is really hard with a small pot to do exactly what you guys said. I realy appreciate all the valuable information you guys have supplied me with. also I will be getting a thermoeter to test the temp. Boy you guys are right that this turns into an addiction. I will post as soon as I get the other materials I need. The thing that is a bummer is I just took apart a microwve about two weeks ago for the motor to make a drying wheel. Damnit. I guess I will have to dig up some money and go to one of the thrift shops around here and see what I can find. Once again thanks a bunch and I am sure I will have some more questions. The guys that gave me the ok to contact them off the forum I will keep in touch and hopefully we will be able to share some tips along the way. Dar3
  2. I recentlypurchased some molds, plastic ,glitter and a lee pot to start pouring my own plastics. These items were used and there is no instructions at all. This is for my own use and also some therapy for me to keep my mind occupied. I tried to mix a batch last night and it did not get hard. Then this morning I guess I burnt it because it turned to a jello like substance. I have read some of the post in the archives and on other forums on plastics but I just can not get it right. Is there anybody on here who would be willing to coach me along for a few batches I would greatly appreciate it. We can do it on the post or through pms not to clog the threads. Any info would be greatly appreciated. D3
  3. 6 feet thanks for the excellent post. I actually have three crayfish in my fresh water aqurium which is why I have such and intrest in this style of fishing sense I put them in and did some research on how much crayfish can be part of big bass diets. I use teh aquarium for some float test of lures and to also have live colors under water to try to match the paint scheme. It is amazing the difference under water versus what they look like out of water. Thanks again guys I love this site. D3
  4. alot of good advice here about this jig fishing. Do you guys ever use just the jig with no trailer and also what other plastics do you use for trailers? The jig is driving me nuts. I know once I get the feel and the confidence it will be ok but I just do not want to give up as I know it is a very versatile bait to throw. Once again thanks for the insight. D3
  5. I guess I have been kind of fishing it thge wrong way. Keep the advice coming I love it. D3
  6. I have never fished a jig till this year. I am presently fishing a football style jig with a 4 inch craw trailer. My question is do you guys fish them similar to a rubber worm texas rigged and bounce off the bottom. I know there are many variables but I would realy like to put a time and place to the jig. Such as rock piles stumps etc. Were do you guys use them most? I know this sounds kind of crazy but you do not know if you do not ask. Thanks in advance I love this site. D3
  7. Do any of you guys make these style spinnerbaits. My uncle is looking for them please contact me either on or off the forum You guys are the best. Ps I have not posted anything yet because I have been busy learning and dealing with my health. D3
  8. I would not do away from the hush box just yet. I am going to be moving my compressor to an outside wall and build an insulated box around it and then add a make up air hole that will supply more then enough air to keep the compressor cool. iF IT IS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HOUSE YOU WILL HAVE PROBLEMS. iF YOU GO TO YOUR LOCAL HARDWARE STORE YOU CAN GET ALL SIZES OF MESH COVERS FOR ADDING AIR TO A SPECIFIED AREA. yOU JUST NEED (SORRY) caps were locked. If you look at the compressor on top you will see where the aie needs to pass over the compressor. I do not like the idea of warm air going into the cold then back to warm. That spells condesation and lots of it. If you do it be sure to put pipe insulation on the pipe to help maintain the air temp. JUst my opinion and can not be held liable for you wife beating you if it does not work. D3

  10. Well I have the addiction as my friend joe told me I would. I started setting up a shop to just do some basic carving and rattle cans about three weeks ago. Well right now I have my band saw vice dremmel tool spray booth with exhaust and all the other goodies to go with it accept the lathe and as we all know there is always something we just have to have so it will never be completely done. I am so excited to get going I played with some stuff and it swam like a turd as joe said it would. LOL LOL but all I can say is you guys are the best thank you for sharing with me as I had no real guidance except this sight and a few others. I am sure I will have a ton of questions and also I will post some pictures when I get the shop or should I say room done. Also it will be a while but I will also post some pictures of finished products. Thanks again guys and gals if tehre are any on here. Don
  11. I would make a jig to the size are you wish to groove out. You could use any flexible material that has some strength to it. Then I would make marker on my dremel and do it free hand on a slow speed. I believe this would be much better than trying to use a router ste up on the dremmel. Good luck and let us know if it change sthe action of the lure any. D3
  12. I also use flux brushes they are very durable. Also they can be used to clean the bottles and cups for airbrushes. They work well overall. D3
