  1. Does anyone have a pic of a tube mold? I have some POP that I can make one from but im not sure what one actually looks like to tell the truth.
  2. Yes they are from over heating the plastic. I am reheating old baits right now and to get it to all melt it has to bubble. Just let it cool for a sec then pour quickly.

  5. How do you make a 2 piece pop mold? I can make 1 piece press-in ones pretty good, but I have no idea how to make a round one to make senkos in.
  6. It will have 1 flat side though, but you can make it so that it will look semi-normal on that side. On my sweet beavers I make the flat side the bottom section Lure Pouring :: IMG_4466.jpg picture by condude4 - Photobucket
  7. Blake, I also was thinking about ordering lure molds from Lure Craft. Go to Hobby lobby and buy some Plaster of Paris. I got 8#s of it for 5$ and it makes the best molds in my opinion. Just pour a bit into a jug, then add water untill its a watery pancake batter. Pour into a frame-work, then press your lure into it. Wait 10-15 min and it should be hard as rock and your lure should have a perfect representation of it. I was gona spend 50$ on molds and I got about 20 for 5$ out of this jug.
  8. I made a pop mold. I just poured the POP material and then pressed teh baits into it. Turned out pretty good without any sealant.
  9. Ok thanks guys, Lead is crossed off. Can someone tell me what a PoP mold is? And what do you use to seal a plaster of paris mold?
  10. I will prob upgrade to a electric heater this summer or winter, I didnt find any at walmart.
  11. Ok ok salt is it then, as for the flame heating. I have not had a prob with it. It just smokes so badly its not funny. I have to wear a paiter's mask just to pour it.
  12. the lead would be sanded down bullet weight shavings.
  13. Ok these are some "will this work" questions. 1) Can you Lead impregnate lures, like put lead shavings in the head of the bait as soon as your pour it? 2) Do you need to use plastic hardener along with your liquid plastic? 3) Im currently using a camp stove with a gas burner. Will this work for melting and pouring plastics. So far it has worked fairly well. Untill later guys, Austin Conn
  14. There is my first try at it with my homemade silicone mold. Is there any way to reheat silicone and make it deeper?
  15. haha, I tried goo gone and it worked. Are there any tips on here for using plaster of paris?
  16. Does anyone know any way to get a smudge of bondo off a table cloth? Mom is gona kill me.
  17. We have 1 extra tube. Mom is going to pick me up some Plaster of paris tonite. Im gona test Bondo again. I tried it and well it hardened before I could get my baits totaly in it.
  18. Does heat or the cold harden silicone cauk?
  19. Poop! No I didn't do that. Dad said that it would totaly dry in about a week with just cauk, which is fine with me. After a few hours it has about 2" around hardened.
  20. Here is my first try at a mold. I lubed the worms up with vasiline before putting them in the white silicone cauk.
  21. Is it possible to make a double sided mold and not have to use sealant. Like plaster of paris is really good and drill a hole in it and then put a bolt in it?
  22. Hello, Woo first post!. I am getting started into pouring, I am getting a order set up with lurecraft for plastics and molds. I want to try this out before I spend the 90$ to get the molds and stuff. Could I make a mold out of silicone cauk? Dad has alot of it and I think it would work the best. We don't have any plaster of paris. Also could you melt old plastic fishing lures (the same color) down and use that to test the mold?
