hi everybody. I've learned a ton from this site. I just dove in and got five gallons of plastic and started pouring this weekend, and everything went really well. I made a bunch of "10 stick baits from pop molds and I was pretty pleased with how they turned out, and the biggest reason was the do's and don'ts I picked up from this forum.
I'm a striped bass fisherman in the northeast and I've had great luck with the larger soft plastics like sluggo and hogy. I use the double hooked pre-rigged ones whenever I can and that sort of a lure is what I'd ultimately like to be making in some volume. I haven't seen many post with embedded tandem hooks. Does it have to be a two piece mold? Am thinking of making a hook slot like the hogies as it would be easier to mold and also allows repeated use of the hooks as the bodies get chewed. would I have any patent issues with a hookslot because hogy has already done it? Thanks for any opinions/info.
