If you cancel within 24 hours of booking, you can receive a full refund, provided the flight was booked at least a week before departure. For Basic Economy tickets, cancellations are not permitted after the 24-hour window. If you have a Non-Refundable ticket, you won’t get a cash refund, but you’ll receive a flight credit for future travel. Refundable tickets allow cancellations anytime before departure, with the refund credited back to the original payment method. Award tickets also have different cancellation policies. If you cancel an award ticket, the fee depends on your United MileagePlus status.
