  1. Just wanted to say, GOOD LUCK! I've had a similar post on here for about three weeks. No information to be found. After countless hours searching the web and posting in foroms, I've all but given up on plastic crankbait molds. I'm almost certain now that plastic lures are injection moulded and pretty much beyond a small lure makers means. If you do find anything, please email or contact me. I would definetely appreciate any helpful knowledge on the subject.
  2. Just wanted to give a word of advice on the CNC. I use a Morbidelli CNC practically everyday. In my opinion, the types of wood needed to make hardbaits are way too soft to be milled at such a high rate of speed. Our machine will only slow to 8000rpms. At this speed, your workpiece would become a projectile. The other, even bigger, problem would be the "stump" still attached to your bait. The machine has to hold the work piece and you would not be able to get a finished piece even if it was not thrown across the room. You would be better off to try to find someone with a replicator. These normally will reproduce 3 to 10 pieces at the time. Call your local wood shops or moulding companies to see if anyone near you has these capabilities. There are two types of machines. One carves and one basically burns with lasers. I hope this helps.
  3. Thanks for the response. I did get one to go through about 2 days ago. However it has not shown. Any idea of when we will be able to post new pics?
  4. Sorry Tally, I'm new here and have no idea what skeeter has or doesn't have.
  5. The Manns 30+ would be your best bet for a deeper running crank. You'll have to do some surfing to get them because I can no longer find them on the shelves.
  6. As far as I can tell myself, you should have no problem mixing media. However, I haven't tried enamel over acrylic yet. I have painted many lures with acrylic over enamel though. I haven't had any problems that haven't been my fault. Always let the paint completely dry between layers. The exception would be in color fading when you are using the same type of paint. Hope this helps and happy painting.
  7. I am having trouble posting pics to this site. I have resized my pics until there's hardly anything left. I still get a failed message. Can someone help?
  8. THERE'S NO NEED TO DROP ALL THAT CASH ON CREATEX PAINTS UNLESS YOU NEED TRANSPARENTS OR PEARLS. I HAVE BEEN PAINTING FOR THREE YEARS AND HAVE FOUND THAT THE CHEAP ACRYLICS OFFER MORE COLOR OPTIONS AS WELL AS FORGIVENESS IN FADING. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO MIX WITH WATER TO THE CONSISTENCY OF MILK. FOR 95% OF LURE PAINTING, IT WOULD BE WISE TO USE THE FINE NEEDLE WITH THE PAASCHE AIRBRUSH. THIS MODEL IS TRULY A WORK HORSE AND WILL PROVIDE YEARS OF DEPENDABLE SERVICE.
  9. I JUST WANTED TO GET SOME FEEDBACK ON PLASTIC CRANKBAITS. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS HOW TO MAKE PLASTIC CRANKBAITS.
