  1. Can anyone make this exact worm in the exact color (Black Grape with a Blue underside) but only 4 inches? Thanks
  2. I take a spider rattle collar and cut it so that the collar is gone then I just tie in the arm under the skirt. So that people can add rattles if they want to. The arms just dangle there until you put the rattles in. See the link below for the rattle collar I use. If you still have questions maybe I can put a picture up for you. Hope this helps. "Spider" Rattle Collar
  3. Hi anyone ever use Vertical Lure products specificly the X chunk or the sling X? I think it is a neat concept and would like some input before I drop some coin. Thanks I will attach the adress in case you guys want to take a look. http://verticallures.com/uploads/Default.asp
  4. They must fish the Fox River, I have yet to make it there but would like to give it a shot. I hear it is pretty good for smallies. I do most of my smallie fishing in Canada and Fish for largies around here.
  5. Thanks John, I am just starting up tying jigs and thanks to this site and members like you I am advancing quickly. Much appreciated.
  6. Hey John those are some nice looking jigs. I have a question how do you make the black bars on the jigs? Do you use a permanent marker?
  7. I just tied some more up tonight I can't wait to try them. I even tied some up with a couple of zonker strips to give them more of a craw look. I will have to post some pics sometime soon.
  8. Here is exactly what you are looking for. barlows carries them. http://www.barlowstackle.com/acb/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=1130&CATID=114 Hope this helps
  9. Wow you guys are a tremendous help. I have learned a lot already in the two days I have been bouncing around this site. By the way I was searching and Jannsnetcraft sells 50 of the base hole pins for $5. That might work just as well as the dowel rod and I wouldn't have to cut them. I am unsure though if I want to get into lead pouring (not just yet) I may see if I can find someone who will pour the jigs for me and then I will take over from there (the painting and inserting of the weedguards). I have two little kids who are always hanging on me and the thought of hot lead scares the pants off of me.
  10. Hi guys I am new to the whole concept of tying bass jigs and painting jig heads, so I would love some guidance. My questions are; 1. Can I powder paint bass jigs with weedgaurds, and cure them, or will the weedgaurds melt in the process? 1A. I went to powder paints website they stated that I could bake the jig at 250 for a longer period of time, but I would rather ask people who have already attemted this. 2. Would I be better off painting and tying the jig and then inserting the weedgaurd, or will the paint fill the caity were the weedgaurd is suppose to go? I appreciate any insights and tips. Thanks Biscuit
  11. What if you just tied (using a bobbin) marabou to jig heads and just pour the heads of the tubes, or cut the legs off of an already made tube. This way you would not loose the marabou when bass tear them up. Simply slide the beat up tube off the hook and reload the jig head with another tube body. Just a thought.
