  1. Thanks for the help guys, I'll try some tonight. Even if it comes out close this would be ok. They are smoking these in lake catouatchie,(new orleans) . Not far from where KVD won the classic. I'll post some pics of my attempts to make them shortly.
  2. DO YOU STILL HAVE THE FAT SHAD AVAILABLE?
  3. I'M TRYING TO GET THIS SWIRL LOOK WITH THE INJECTOR AND INJECTION REQUIRED MOLDS. ANYBODY DID THIS AND CARE TO SHARE THEIR STEPS TO GET THE LURE TO COME OUT LOOKING LIKE THIS. I HAVE THE TWIN INJECTOR AND THE BLENDING BLOCK FOR MAKING LAMINATES BUT CAN'T GET THE SWIRL LOOK.
  4. Soft Plastic Also Helps Out With You Hook Set. Sometimes When You Fish A Sweet Beaver Or Mega Craw , Which Are Big Baits, The Hook Has A Harder Time Coming Through The Plastic. Even Though You Pass The Hook All The Way Through And Just Skin Hook The Bait , The Harder Plastic Is Tougher To Set The Hook. Just Another Opinion.
  5. Has Anyone Painted With Chrome Before. I Have A Few Old Chug Bugs That Have Been Annialated By Bass And The Chrome Is Chipping Off. Would Like To Use These To Practice Up On Airbrushing . Where Do I Start. Is The Chrome Painted From A Can( Krylon) . Then Airbrush Colors And Details. Do I Sand The Bait To Get All The Old Paint Off Or Use A Thinner Or Cleaner To Take It Off. Excited To Get Started But Would Like To Know The Proper Steps. All Help Would Be Appreciated.
  6. I Used To Pour Using A Big Medical Serenge. You Get The Plastic Hot And Pour It In The Serenge And Inject The Plastic To Insure No Voids. You Have To Be Careful And Wear A Glove Do To The Hot Plastic, But It Worked Great. Now I'm Thinking, What If You Took A Two Part Serenge Like The Dv2 And Injected It In The Mold . You Should Get A More Define Swirl Do To Plastic Being Pressed Into The Mold Simultaneously. Probably A Little More Work Than The Funnel Or Divider Cup But Its Gotta Work. What Do You Guys Think? Its Been A While Since I Poured Due To Learning How To Paint Cranks But I Just May Give This A Try.
  7. THANKS FOR THE VIDEO, THIS SHOULD HELP A LOT OF PEOPLE. SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO SEE IT TO BELIEVE IT AND YOU COULDN'T ASK FOR MUCH MORE THAN THIS . BIG PROPS TO THE ONE HANDED ACTION.
  8. I Find That If You Coat The Mold With A Light Coat Of Wd40 It Allows The Platsic To Flow To The Bottom Better.i Also Inject My Plastic And Usually On Big Baits That Consist Of A Good Bit Of Rubber , This Helps. No, The Wd40 Will Not Affect The Finish Product. I Usually Make About 40 Of One Color And Then Put Them In Cold Water For A Few Seconds And Then Put Them Into A 1-gallon Ziplock And Add Some Salt And Shake It -up.i Do This For Sweet Beavers Also And Works Great. Give A Try.
