Thank you very much, thats what i was thinking would be a very reasonable price for the bender and the spinner parts. I didnt know how to respond to the $65 comment without sounding like a complete jerk. I was curious, so ive been checking ebay this last week, just to see how much the parts are going for, they seem to be higher than what i expected them to be. But i would have to get a different credit card to use with paypal. But i have been thinking about getting one that i can use on ebay just to get rid of some stuff that i dont use anymore to get myself a new tv. Are you interested in just the boggs bender, or some of the spinnerbait parts also?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=250775735797&nma=true&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&rt=nc&si=aDiqXsTRj5OGfKiRONdZgayyn%252FY%253D I found a used boggs bender that was on ebay, it sold for $52.59 +$8.00 s/h. That was just the bender that came with the D head and B head. I bought the bender used, why would i try to get brand new price for it? I would like to get what i paid for the bender, the wires, blades, clevises, and the bodys back. Everything else i bought for it would just go with it, and it should bring a little more. I wouldnt have much use for the beads, or that size hooks. Thats what I bought the airbrush for, and that much paint, so why wouldnt it just go with it?? $65 seemed like a super lowballed price, I wanted some more peoples feedback on that. I wanted another oppinion before i replyd back to this. And this just sounds like BS _____ "Don't try to sell the beads and blades separate . For me I buy in bulk. When you resell the blades/beads in small quantities you usually get pennies on the dollar for what you paid for it" ________ Why would i seperate them all neways if i was wondering a price for everything, because i considered selling everything together? The paint has NOT been used and the airbrush is NOT even opened. i have a same airbrush that i do have opened. i still have a bunch of paint that hasent been touched, and the paint i have used i still use from the second or third set that i have opened. I know I started this post in January this year, but i finally found a boggs bender on ebay when i searched for pricing again., even though it is closed, i wanted to post it. I wanted a few more oppinions before i replyd back to this. I have to found out if i can use my prepaid creditcard on ebay using paypal. Then if i can, i'll just put it up and see what i get for everything.

Really, just for making sinkers? If i melt down the small sinkers and good clean small splitshots that'de be the way to do it. But i wouldnt think it would matter much just fo pouring 1/2-1 ounce sinkers. i could see it for pouring jigs or lures
-
Wow im so glad that i asked that. I didnt know they used anything but lead on tires. Guess im happy we didnt melt any down last year. Were not gonna do anything until late spring or summertime, when its warm outside. We just put a pot on an old whitegas coleman grill outside. So ide rather do it when its warm outside and not windy. Ill make sure the shot is dry beforehand, thro them on an old towel in a sunny window or on the fridge for a few day. I figured that ide start with the splitshots in the pot first, Being very small and most likely still dirty, it'll give a good melting point to start with. Cleaning the crudd off and be a good start for doing the wheel weights. Doin those first i think will be a very good idea for some practice since i havent done it on my own. Plus my father past away last year, and he was the only one that i know of that has done it. Depending on how many we get from the shot, broken sinkers, wheel weights and some scrap my dad has in the basement. Thatll give me a rough estimate on how many lbs will make how many sinkers, without having to do the math and try to guess how much will me krud on top. Just one more question. I know the nys laws have changed, saying any lead weigh under (i think it's) 1/8 ounce (but might be) 1/4 ounce cannot be bought or sold. It doesnt say anything about not using them. I didnt see a game warden the last few years fishing to ask. If they just cant be bought or sold, Or if what we already have cant be used. All splitshots bought now arent lead. So ive bought some just to be on the safeside. If small sinkers or splitshots cant be used i have tons of them that can be melted down, but that means i cant use the small chambers on the mold either.

Whats the difference in the Z and the ZA tireweights? I have prob 10 pounds here and my friend said he has about 30lbs for when we make them. I was thinking about just quickly cleaning them off with a wire brush first. I know they only give you 8-12cents per pound for wheel weights at scrapyards if there still on the metal clips I got a box of really small splitshots that you cant get back off. someone gave me them in a metal box that were covered in rust and dust. Threw them in a bottle with water and shook em and let them sit for awhile. just to clean them up some. My dad and his friend ended up buying 100-200lbs of lead probly about 10 years ago. I still havent had to buy lead or sinkers yet, and my friends ussually just end up using mine. I still have a small plano box full, but ive been looking into the prices for when i do it.

call the scrapyards around you. Its all cleaned n melted into molds. it cost about 50 cents a pound around here. havent got any yet but i called around to 3 and found the 1 that sells it

I dont even know if i would sell the bender yet. Its been almost 2 years since i bought the bender, the clevices, blades, and the wires. i dont remember what i paid for everything. I looked on ebay for the bender just to see how much they go for used, but i havent seen any. if i do decide to sell it, i dont have paypal, so i cant do that. I was planning on getting alot of the parts and make a bunch to sell to start out, and my own huge collection of assorted sizes and colors. i was just making a list of what i got in the plano, then i just added everything else to it, pretty much for myself so i had the list. (and just incase i do end up selling it) i dont know if i will sell it or not. I know the beads arent really worth anything, the plano box or the random small things. I also bought a few airbrushes too that i havent used ***I just want to know what a used boggs professional tacklemaker, with the wires, bodys, clevises, and all the big blades would all sell together for. Ive been thinking about getting everything i would need to start making alot of diff assortments before spring. Im just curious as to what it would sell for. ive just been thinkin that i either need to start getting stuff and using it or sell it. I do not know if i would even sell it. just want 2 kno what its worth, i may sell it but i dont know yet

Im not sure if I want to sell everything just yet, I'm wondering what I could get for everything before I decide what I would like to do. Once I know I'll decide if I would like to sell everything or finish getting everything else I need and start making some more. The last few weeks I've been searching for other stuff I would need to make more, and to make inline spinners for bass on the 6". But im not sure yet, I'll let everyone know what I decide when I know, but I want to know what everythings worth first if I sell it all together. But here it is: Bogg's bender, *with head size D *for .041 - .051 75pc #8 nickel clevises I may have some more platic quick change clevises in my box, that i always used for worm rigs 10pc 12" .051 end has the loop closed 390pc 6.25" .045 *im sure its .045, but it may be .041 They have the open loop end, Just have to go in the bender and finish making the loop, I finished the loops on a few it was 400pc -dont think i even used ten of them 18pc brass bodys 1.25" 4pc silver bodys 1.25" 13pc chartruse #7 willow 3.25" 4pc orange #7 willow 3.25" 4pc black #7 willow 3.25" 4pc green #7 willow 3.25" 4pc nickel colorado blades 2" 1000pc 5/32 nickel finish hollow metal beads 140pc 10mm ruby faucetted plastic 4pc 2" long X 1.5" wide huge hooks used for snaghooks 4pc 1.5" X 1" nickel hooks Also have some small orange plastic beads, few different sizes, and a few teardrop beads Probly have another 4 blades, one of each of the #7 willow in my fishing box. I used a few of the plastic quick change clevises just to play with different color blade combinations while being out fishing. may have a few more smaller blades, clevises, and some metal beads and a few random parts in my fishing box A bunch of new hooks different sizes i had left over from changing most all the hooks on my lures. Just bought alot all different sizes to have extra left over for making inline spinners. But ill probly keep them incase i have to change some again. *I even have a few glow in the dark paint kits. 3 stage= white base paint, glow in the dark paint, and the clearcoat, made for cars with pinstripe kits. They each have there own brush in the bottles *they were like $18. When i started using them. Then they werent going to stock them anymore. So i stocked up for $12 each. I cant find it anywhere nemore. It works awesome. I painted all my night fishing poles, some lures, And the sights on a few of our rifle for coyote hunting. I also have some reflective paint in spray cans, I think silver and red. I might have 2 of each, Its suppost to be like the policecar stickers. I don't know how it is, I havent used any of that because my poles are already glow in the dark. Thats what i have all in a plano box to keep them organized. I used to have everything in a small used box of drawers i picked up. Its about 9"high X 10" wide X 6" * the 12 top drawers are about 1.25" X 2.75" X 5.75" bottom drawer is 2.5" X 5.75" X 8.75" I had everything in that when i was using them, but the 12" wires didn't fit so i ended up putting everything in the plano box.

I was going to start making mostly inline spinnerbaits, I ended up getting a boggs bender, some large stuff and started to get some other parts almost 2 years ago. I made some but just havent in over a year. I'm just wondering where i can ask you guys how much i can sell everything for. I havent decided if i want to sell it yet, or start getting all the other pieces i need and actually start making them. Im just curious as to what i can get for everything first before i decide. So i dont want to put it in the classified ads in the forum. But i also didnt know where to put this post either, So i hope it's alright asking ya'll here. I'll have to get everything out and see what i have, so i can give ya'll the list. I guess ill go from there, then if i want to sell it i'll put in in the forum classifieds. then if i do keep it and want to start making them i would like to start getting everything and start making them before spring rolls around. But i wanted to make sure this is the place i should ask you first before putting everything up and asking. Thank you

I have 10pc. .051 12inch wires for my musky spinners. i bought 400pc .045 6.25 inch to get started. most likely for large bass, pike, and maybe for muskys, depending on the size they come out. I also have 1000pc. 5/32 nickle finish, hollow beads, i know there kinda small, and 10mm plastic fauceted beads. Does anyone have any suggestions on the other stuff i need for both wires? like size and kind of blades? should i use size #3 clevises with the .046 hole, or can i use the size #4 clevise made for the .051 wire for the .045 wire and .051 wire?? i think i want an assortment of blades of different styles and size 5 or larger. I'de like to put 2 blades on most of the musky wires and 2 hooks. If i use 2 blades does that mean i should use about a size 5-7 instead of the single 8-9+ blade? I like the colorado and the indiana better then the willow. i have glow in the dark paint and UV reflective silver and red paint for blades in the future. I also have to start making bucktails, and get some of that throttle cable coil to make them with. Also going to have to figure out the size of the hooks i want to use. I think thats all i need to know for now. But y'all have been a huge help. thank you everyone and i hope i helped someone else wanting to start making there own also. the beers on me buddys

is just about all the single strand SS wire torsion straitened? I've been looking on ebay they have quite a bit of single strand, but i can't find any that says it is torsion straitened. it's just easier to buy it off ebay for me then out of a catalog. if bucktails hooks aren't cheap, MT i guess your right tommorow might be down the road...lol i found some that said u can put them on with zip-ties, which i'm thinkin might be a good idea at first. just to figure out good color schemes. then use the kevlar string. i'm goin to have to look up how to make them with the string and what epoxy to use. does anyone have any recomendations for .041 wire and .051 wire. what size blades, clevises, bead size, and your colors if you don't mind sharing. i have a 8"+ spinner, black bucktail with a orange blade, brassbodys,+beads i was nailing huge bass on, also had a musky follow it right to shore. i lost that one i bought another one at walmart for 3.50 on sale. for bass and so i can have something to look at while i make some. it's just easier for me when i can look at one.

thanks alot guys. i got my barlows catalog yesturday and i got netcraft today. theres a huge difference in price on some stuff. I'm talking with someone that has a boggs benchtop wireformer that goes up to .051 and a bunch of stuff from when he was selling lures. that would be perfect. i've been finding alot of different recomendations, for different type of wire, for blades, and clevises. clevises i'm thinking sz4. $3.16 for 100 but maybe 3 for .041-.045 wire, with 5-7 indiana blades to start with. then go alot bigger. Is there anyone that has the treble hooks with the bucktail on them cheap?? all i'm finding are very expensive. i'll end up making them sometime down the road.
