  1. I like how it flares out in the water. I'm trying to picture the spool dimensions you listed, pictures worth a thousand words .
  2. Brian can you post a picture of your strainer?
  3. How bout it... the cadillac of wire benders
  4. Thanks A-mac I'll have to check out their split rings.
  5. Its negative 20 below outside right now with windchill and its supose to get colder tonight.
  6. I'm a newcomer here but welcome back and glad life is treating you good. Like your cranks
  7. I agree with Mark as well, the idea is to get the biggest hook without them fouling together. You can also change our factory split rings sizes to help some as well. I know a friend of mine will put a bigger treble on the rear of his cranks to improve hookups or add a second split ring. There are a few things you can do but like BobP stated you also have to pay attention to the action of the lure and how your affecting it. Personally I run the KVD short shank trebles and the owner hyper wire split rings.
  8. I was reading somewhere a guy took a old 35mm film case and drilled holes in the top of that to better control the powder. Maybe that might work better for you? I'm about to give it a try for the first time myself.
  9. I tend to use three pads regardless of the weight of the jig. It may vary somewhat where a finesse jig verses say brush or punch rig is concerned. I have seen 1/8 ounce micro jigs, now that weight jig I would be using less on.
  10. I wanted to say thanks to you all for your input. What a great forum for information. I'm looking forward to giving this a try. I found some video on the tap method you guys are using and I now see what your talking about. I look forward to giving this a try. Ted I sent you an email a little bit ago.
  11. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the multi-colored or two tone powder coating? I have seen it being used at the Boss brand jig heads and would like to try my hand at it.
  12. Thanks Jig Man, Cadman did get ahold of me so thank you.
  13. I wanted to say hello to everyone and happy holidays. I have been reading and learning for some time now here and recently bought some goodies for making jigs. I just started a couple weeks ago for myself and I'm really enjoying it. I"m still learning and I don't intend on molding my jig heads but I did build a fluid bed and have had a couple good batches with pounder coating some heads so far. I am only using the rubber skirt collars so far, I haven't attempted hand tying on just yet, still reading up on that. I was wonding if anyone could point me in the right direction on unpainted jig heads such as just the simple ball heads for brush heads or the swing jig heads like the hardhead biffle? Thanks, Chris
