  1. Sorry the 20' of line out is meant to say trolling with 20' of line out, however I read the book wrong and it was at 40' where it exceeded casting depth of 10'....I guess what Im not understanding is we move the bait with the reel from a stationary boat, trolling, the boat is moving but not the reel... is the difference in depth due to boat speed or line out? I was always of the understanding that a bait will only hit a certain depth no matter of the speed of retrieve, sorry for the confusing post Im not really sure how to word this question? So in a nutshell their saying that trolling the same lure with 40' of line out acheives a greater depth with the same bait than casting the bait 100'
  2. Why are diving depths listed for trolling so much greater than depths listed for casting? As an example they show a Rapla dt-10 hitting 12-14' with 20' of line out but yet on a 100' cast they only show it hitting 10' with compareable line size? Just trying to understand the mechanics of what Im looking at. Thanks

  11. Steve I think your figure is a little deep from my experience throwin a 30+, so I checked my copy of precision casting thinkin maybe I had missed something they list the 30+ hitting 19' on a 70' cast with 10lb line, I'm kind inline with Bob short of making the bait sink 30' might be a stretch
  12. Very clean looking work:yay: did anyone notice on some the front hanger being rotated 90 degrees? Dont think I've seen this before? Also it looks as some have a brass line tie, s.s. (i think?) belly weight tie, and a screw in rear hook hanger? I clicked on the fd website and google translated some of it.
  13. Dean they all look great, the bottom left corner has a resemblance to a dt-16(I know it's not) Is that one of yours?

  21. You might want to consider downsizing, I have a 30'x 40'x10' shop thats uninsulated which was just going to be a money pit to try to keep warm so in the corner of the building I built a small room maybe around 8'x12'x8' insulated the walls and ceiling and can get it toasty with a small 19.95 ceramic heater(70+), I dont sand in this room just paint and clearcoat which has been great for the cleaner enviroment.
