    Made one with water catalyst which worked pretty well. Would like lower viscosity and was planning to use mineral spirits to mix into the silicon first then the water to catalyze. Any suggestions or thoughts? Thanks.

    Anybody ever put a gallon of plastisol in their Presto Pot/Stirrer and come back in 30 minutes or whatever ready to pour? I seem to waste a lot of time heating up cups of plastic and pouring them in. Thanks.

    Saving money by pouring your own lures is like saving money by making your own plywood.

    It works very well in every way except for the hard pack issue. Within 24 hours of mixing it has to be scraped/mixed again.

    Most florescent colors need to be added before heating. The thermometer is a must. Stir slowly and with something small or you might introduce more bubbles than the heating process did. Good luck.

    I recently took my baits to a flea market to sell. I had them on display on trays on a table outdoors. It was hot and sunny all day. When I got home and unloaded my unsold stock, I noticed ALL the light colored plastic had yellowed from exposure to the sun. I take great pains to avoid discoloration during pouring and now have hundreds of ruined/offcolor baits. I am sure it will come up so I will tell you I use LC plastic with pearl in most of my colors. Anyone else have this happen? I have abandoned selling outdoors for now. kevtherev

    Has anybody out there tried to make a Snagproof Frog using Plasti-Dip or anything similar? They are good lures but seem overpriced to me, plus you gotta love the challenge! Thanks. kevtherev

    Rick, I have used it and it is excellent. You need to be aware that is stays a little tacky for about 24 hours after pouring; other than that I would highly recommend it. kevtherev
