  1. It was...when I couldn't get BBCP anymore.
  2. PERFECT!! I loved the stuff. So long Chemionics!
  3. My variation that I made up for a tournament guy in South Alabama. Pictured are 6" Worm, 7.5" Worm and 6" Lizard.
  4. ABSOLUTELY! As the plastic cools, it shrinks. If you are making a big bait, make sure to have a deep sprue (pour hole) that will hold extra plastic that will draw into the bait.
  5. Yup, they're kinfolk. You can pretty much find anything you want from Bob's on basstackle.com

    Gut-See Frog

HOLY COW!! Now that is one awesome frog. Somebody stand me back up. Oh to have a mold of that one...
  7. Jim, who has a Grass Craw type mold? I have not seen one yet, but would love it.
  8. Now I would be VERY curious about that myself!
  9. All of those are Bear's molds.
  10. I hope it works well. There plastisol is going to be my new brand. I've been using Chemionics, but due to personal reasons, have decided to use different plastisol from a new supplier. After looking around, I've decided on Lureworks. Fingers crossed.
  11. Yup, what he said. Top off the sprue.
  12. Just curious, I just got a new airbrush set, and was wondering what the best paint is for airbrushing soft plastics lures? Any and all suggestions are truly greatly appreciated.
  13. For sale: (1) Basstackle 2 cavity 8.5" Worm Mold and (1) 5.5" Bear's "Toed" Lizard. Both molds in GREAT shape. $45 for the Worm Mold, $30 for the Lizard Mold....or $70 for the pair. Price includes domestic shipping and delivery confirmation. Thanks for looking.
  14. BANG scents will work also.
  15. Not to over simplify, but order a Blending Block. Makes laminates SO MUCH EASIER.
  16. Bear's Red Shad Red. The only problem is that it will bleed over time, like the red in Culprit's Red Shad worms.
  17. That bait has a flat top. Just make a mold from plaster, resin or rtv. It would be a lot easier than trying to find an aluminum one.
  18. On the injected trick worms, you can also pour 1 color in the belly of the worms, close the mold, and (using the Blending Block), then inject 2 other colors. This gives a very nice tri-color lam. Coreshots have also been discussed here. Tyler1994 has some videos posted in the tutorial section on how to make a coreshot with an injection mold.
  19. Mustad 91678BLN that I add a screwlock to. Oh yeah, 5/0
  20. There is one problem that rears its ugly head with this method...cold cracks and separation. I did this same thing for a while, then I got a Blending Block. After a few days of curing, if you rub your finger on the end of the bait where the color separation is, you will peel the baits into two pieces, one of each color. One way I found to help eliminate this is to get a pencil torch and run it close to the baits without touching them. This melts the plastic a little and helps the two colors adhere. Hope this helps, the baits look great.
  21. Quantum Hot Sauce Reel Oil. This stuff is magic!
  22. I hate to say this, but, it basically depends on you. Each manufacturer has their own colorants. What I have found from trial and error, is that not all colors are the same. Just because it is labeled "Green Pumpkin", the colors can be strikingly different from company to company. I would suggest that you try some of each manufacturer's colors and see which ones fit your color palette ideas the best.
  23. That's exactly how you do it. If I have time tonight, I'll post pics of the process.
