  1. I recently did a couple Dozen using the koolaid boil method, using fresh tails. Once dyed, I laid them on borax until the hair dried, and moved them into an air dehydrater for a few days until dry. Colors came out beautiful, but realy brittle..... all in all, happy with the results and look great on my flies and dressed trebles.....
  2. Has anyone used the colorants from janns netcraft? If so, how do they compare to the lc colorants?

  4. Going through the color book, I see a lot of recipes that call for (x amt. Of drops) of color (2x)..... what is the 2x referring to? Is it double the amt of drops, or the color mfg? If it is the mfg, can I get some info? I know it may be a dumb question, but any help I can get, thanks in advance....-taz

  6. Makes sense..... one of my main target colors is chartreuse (spelling?) What do you recomend? Koolaid will pretty much cover any othe color I can think of, or rit..... lol
  7. I thought about laying my tails in an air dehydrater, and than dying them, see if it dries quicker. And.... how long does the koolaid stay before it starts to fade????
  8. I carve a lot from wine corks..... dremel tool with sanding barrell for the body, and I use a stone for the cup... I also use a "straight through" wire design for my hooks... works great.... once I figure out how to post pics from my phone, I will do so....

  13. Looking through the download file and came across the watermelon heavy salt recipe, and was wondering if it was complete? 4oz plastic, 8 drops watermelon, and 4 drops black grape...... is it just me, or is there more to this one????? Just curious..... thanks. -taz

  15. been going back through this trying to find the recipe for lead and powder and cant find it for some reason... does this look right? 1/2 cup plastic 1/4 cup salt 1/4 tsp lc silver pearl 1/8 tsp lumina black 2 drops lc black 1/4 large black flake hopefully this is correct.... this forum kicks ass!
  16. I have been using modge podge on my outer surfaces, and epoxy inside my molds..... I haven't tried the 50/50 glue yet, though I did go from a 5 minute set to a 30 minute set on my epoxy... its amazing the small tidbits of helpful stuff one can pick up on in here....
  17. I would recomend using stainless steel bb's in your bottles as mixing balls... stainless won't tarnish and contaminate your colors....
  18. I read the entire recipe collection the other night, as well as downloaded the cookbook.... a lot of recipes posted on the forum, that haven't made it to the file yet. Awsome job to everyone involved with this hole project.
  19. Mister twister has a tomato seed that realy like..... has anyone posted a recipe for it and I missed it, or does anyone have something close?
  20. All of my crank baits have a red front hook. Also being a slot- racer, I was able to use some of my armeture dye, which gives my hooks a nice annodized looking finish..... I have better strike results on the clear, sunny days in 10 foot water or less.... jmo

  22. Next question I have, since the govt gets 10% right off the get-go, how does it work with the state gov't? Like here in michigan, our sales tax is 6%, but as the seller, is the. State govt gonna nail us for their percentage also?
