  1. Explosion waiting to happen I'm sorry for being so blunt just would hate to read something bad to happen really
  2. Sudd I'm sorry I didn't mean to be a know it alll because I don't but I can tell you how I built mine I picked up twe kitchen hood fans and they are set back to back with eight inches in between so I took a t joint furnace duct and hooked both fans together so there's only one pipe going outside to a real vent cut into the bricks I wired them together so there on one plug and for a filter I bought a roll of that furnace filter you can cut on your own it comes in big rolls I have a filter right across and it works great I've tried with a cigarette on a low fan setting and it sucks it right out I am however useing createx but I still worry about my lungs but I get no paint come out of the booth it cost me less than a hundred bucks that's cheap considering your safety I'll try to post some pics and the fans I picked up second hand and my electrician put them on a dimmer switch so I can adjust to my needs I hope this helps good luck with your project gino
  3. I totally agree with mark on this issue I would get rid of than fan right away there not sealed a kitchen hood fan is a much better choice and vent it outdoors with hard furnace duct none of that dryer vent flexible pipe that flexible pipe is the worst invention ever you get all kinds of junk stuck in the creases I build homes for a livening and I always make sure my h vac guy uses furnace pipe and also I would think of permanently attaching a stove vent on the outside reason being if you just hang a pipe out the window you will get on windy days a draft comeing back in I don't think you want that I'm surprised though on spraying laquer paints in the house I'm sure that yes you can vent and wear a mask but how about the rest of the family and not to mention you do have a furnace in the house that could possibly blow up I would really re think that just my two cents

  10. Hey Mark I totally agree with you I have some old baits that have caught a ton of fish I've actually had to repaint some the paint was showing wear and tear mark between us I had an issue with rapala husky jerks some had the big driveing lip and some had the small lip I never put my clamps on the lip always on a hook hanger and I painted about two dozen paints a couple winters ago when I was done with the epoxy I started takeing the tape of the lips and I was getting some that the lip would come off with the tape I figured a couple who cares right but I had eight so I contacted rapala and they passed me to there area CEO so I explained and he told me to send a couple in so I did well a month went by and I got no response so I kept calling and his secretary would just tell me he's not in so what I did was called from my office at work and it showed up as our company name so she did not know it was me and she passed me over so he answered the phone and I asked politely what are we going to do with this do he told me he was leaveing for Finland to go to rapala head office and he would bring the baits but he would not be back for two weeks so I took his word for it but a few days later I figured I should check up to make sure he was not playing me and I had my secratary call on her cell phone and ask for him sure enough he was in his office at this point I was pissed so doing tournaments I know a few guys that rapala sponsors so I called every one of them and let them know sure enough he called me within half hour but still no resolution I got my baits exchange by the assistant manager as I called when the CEO was not there and informed the secretary I was going public with it and I got my baits exchanged he was actually nice guy he sent me 24 rapslas but I won't buy any more from them but it is getting hard to find good blanks ive priced out buying alluminiate resin to make my own but the price is double for what I can buy them for mark who do you buy your blanks from
  11. It is to brittle I hear a lot of complaints from friends about this same issue for the cost of a crankbait/minnow bait I think the product should be a lot better we really should not have to epoxy the lips on a bait after we pay good money for them I know these baits are suppose to be made in the USA but looking st the small print there all made offshore it really gets down to politics don't buy offshore products
  12. Mark I had that happen with a big tackle manufacture the lips were breaking off in the painting process so I called them and there exuse was the paint I use I explained I use createx they knew dam well it was a factory defect I don't use any harsh chemicals whatsoever I only use isopropyl to clean my brushes when done painting they replaced them after me calling and bugging them for a couple months I really would not have expected that from a big tackle company then I tried putting a coat of epoxy over the lip but that just threw the crank out of tune so at eight bucks each i don't buy there product anymore
  13. No chuck don't do that I learned the hard way you can heat it up to get it soft but it doesn't come out right when that happens I just mix a touch more you have to remember also the brush is starting to set also so eveetime you dip the brush in it just adds to the epoxy setting
  14. You can simpley warm it up in the containers with a hairdryer this way when squeezing it out of the tubes its more softer and you can perfectly pour the exact amount
  15. I just use a couple drops to make it more simple three drops from a medicine dropper I've also put it in after I mixed the epoxy with no issue I think some guys go overboard with epoxy like weighing it I just get those cheap plastic containers not shot cups because they are tapered the ones I use are straight and I measure with a ruler on the plastic cup lets say a qauter inch and just put a dot with a sharpie then another qauter inch from that dot up so total a half inch i heat both the resin and hardener then put the resin in first up to the first dot then hardener to the second dot mix it well with something metelz no wood stir sticks I have a small screwdriver I use then once mixed I put the isopropyl in and mix it for a couple minutes and I've never had an issue I hope this helps good lick
  16. I use the isopropyl 99% that works great and any drug store carries it hth
  17. Go on createx autoairs and there are tech sheets there the floro colors seem to work over white but read what they have to sau dont take my word for it
  18. Hi dale i fish lake ontario for king salmon also in the summer months on the lightist tackle i can get away with with dale were would i find circut bosrd material

  20. Hi dale thank you for your help dale i fish lake erie for walleye really dale if i could buy the baits in question i would buy them but since they are discountinued i have found some bit the price is just crazy and i have been thinking about making some cranbaits for awhile funny thing is when im moose hunting and i start getting bored sitting i will sometimes grab a branch or piece of branch of the floor and try to carve something with my hunting knife and i am not good at that at all so keeping that in mind i always shyed away from lure building but looking at all the posts on here actually encouraged me to start im a very good painter and buy alot of lures that are in the bargin bin but that to is getting expensive but i will take your advice on the ballast one quick question what would you suggest for the lip material i see most guys use circut board which i have no idea what it is or where to get it ive thought about lexan what i was thinking about doing with lexan or some type of durable plastic is to take the original plug and makeing sort of a jig or form and heating up the lip material and mould it the same as the manufacturers lip i will give both pvc and balsa a try and see what gives me better results as gor testing a friend of mine manages a hotel that has an indoor pool so i can use that after hours again thanks to sll of uou for your advise your truly a good bunch of guys on this board i will post my results and all my steps in the process thank you gino
