I have and can get these clam shells. Dimensions. Cavity, Lenght 2" x width 2 1/8" x depth 1 3/16 - 1 3/8" Perimeter, lenght 4 7/8" x 2 7/8" I also can order another size that is exact same except the depth is 11/16 - 7/8" .30 each plus shipping. Cool. Ya it was a DT 10 that I slapped, I did not slap it very hard at all. The other 2 I hit a rock , over shot my cast, well one was a cast into a bridge piling LOL So I understand how those 2 broke. Bummer on the DT's having weak bills. Thanks for the replies.

Hey guy's. Anyone else haveing bills on your crankbaits breaking off ? I have had 3 bills break now. 2 were from hitting a rock that I guess the lure must have hit bill first and split the bill right in half. one yesterday I slapped the water to get a weed off and the bill broke right off at the body, this one was not my painted lure but someone elses. I am just wondering if the clear coat is making bills weaker ?

I switched to brushing from dipping because I had containers harden up on me because I did not get the lid tight once and the second time was because I let a few drops off the lure drip back in. I also put mine in a wine bottle and pour out what i need to brush, I also have been using the ketchup cups that you get at fast food places to pour in and brush out of. I wont dip again. Also if you do not let enough run off the lure it will get on the lip and under your tape, also make sure to blow on your hook hangers so you do not have to clean them out once it hardens.

Wallmart sells a tiny minow Dip net made by Laker part # WT-04 that is white that I like the best, it costs .78 but I just wish it was bigger. It is in the fishing section.

I am pretty sure you can still order from them without the business lic. they will just charge you the .10% extra. The one down side of buying blanks is if you sell the finished lure with hooks on it then you just manufactured a lure by adding the hooks, and to be legal you need to have a manufacturers license and pay O uncle Sam .10% of what you sell it for. So in the long run buying a completed lure and repainting it is cheaper if you get a half way good price for the lure.

I have the HP CS .35 and the revalution CR .50 and I like the CR better.

Using the 30 min by the time you mix it and put it on your lure you only have about 20 mins left and mine seems to not sag so even turning it for 15 mins might work. Keep the epoxy questions coming, I do not think we have learned everything there is to know about it.

You know up till yesterday I thought dentatured alchol was from my dentist ( dentured alchol ) I asked my dentist for some, he was a bit confused, then I asked again and he said are you sure it is not denatured, Spelt with a A, well I did a google search and DUH, Just goes to show that not all posts are spelled out right for some of us dummies..

Hi Dean, Well I do usually try and search first, hate to look like a dummy but like stated unless you hit the correct KEY words you could be reading allot and still not get the answers. You have always seemed to add your thoughts and I appreciate that so I hope you did not mean I was discourteous.

Thanks Bob, I am coating with epoxy first then second coat of DN now, I really like the way the gloss looks rather then just doing DN. What is the reason for sanding epoxy ? This post should be on the subject itself so others may see it but then again not many use the search correctly including myself. LOL

I use the search once in a while but who has hours of time looking for that one key thing your looking for ? The search function is hard to use because of this. I hate posting my question in someone Else's post because like me if I am not interested in what is being discussed and I do not read anymore of it or never open that thread again and then someone comes and steals on the post I will never read it and the person with the answer will never see it. Usually their is only a few that will answer questions on a certain thing, Look here at this thread, WOW 6 pgs and it is all drama stuff, a place for some to complain. One of the 13 posts was mine, and it never got a answer, you cannot tell me no one has tried the 2 top coats together. Look at the band saw/ scroll saw question in here, when the next guy looking for that info do you think by using the search function he is going to find the answers that were given ? I do not know if key items were categorized would help but it might be a start. We all want to make the best and trial and error sucks. This post will make some not want to ask questions and that is not right. I am not pointing fingers at anyone here so please do not take it that way. But for those that put up with the questions being asked all the time and answer them time and time again you guy's rock and people will look up to you. Tons of guy's here that have the answers here but do not want to give them up because they may think that there stuff is the shizzle, or it is my little secret ? I hate posting and answering because I am not good at putting words correctly, I failed English.
