  1. I was pouring some big baits, and wanted to add some softner. I didnt know when to add it, so I added it befor ethe plastic was melted. I noticed the plastic didnt melt like it normally does, and seems it didnt completely harden Using Calhouns Medium, and probably added like.... 1-2 ozs of softner to like 14 ozs plastic.. what did I do wrong? what about DINP.. If I wanted to add that, do I add it before the plastic melts, or after..?? Please help thanks guys
  2. hes got great prices COmmunication sucks. Ive got about 7 of his molds, and half I bought used because he never returns calls. his voicemail was full for months, and normally, he took about 1- 1.5 months to return communication. But this has been the longest stretch yet. I havent heard from him in about 4 months... I have a guy who might be able to do your work... email me at byronkeathley@gmail.com

  4. Hey guys been pouring for a little, but I have a big question- What is the clearest plastic? and I mean after its been poured and setup, which plastic manufacturer makes the clearest, most colorless plastic? whos in second place to that??? Calhoun MF Lurecraft Chemionics other?
  5. and, I will be supplying it at a good cost, it will be at a low enough price to still make profit... dont get turned away by the costs Im looking at... as with everything , there is dillusion and markup.... the glow in the dark situation is underway
  6. well, im going right to the source of all this. getting to the bottom is pretty serious. Ive spent a great deal of time on this, and the reality is; a major background check is done with HOME LAN SECURITY. the pure levels of this stuff go from $100 per lb to $ 4,000 per lb, uncut. These manufactures are the real deal, and provide by far the purest forms on this stuff then u will ever see on any fishing tackle site. My goal is to surpass them in purity and cost by far.I am going to do some major testing, and mixing to make this stuff work. Ive seen the "glow in the dark powder addative" and im trying to go a few steps further... so to answer your question, yes. I will keep u guys posted. this is my biggest venture now. its taking up most of my time, and I want to make this happen.... most companies dont wanna mess with this because of the small profit margin, but if I can get enough accounts set up on the stuff, I dont have a problem making a smaller profit unlike the bigger companies who like to just rake in the cash for nothing. Any further questions, feel free to ask.
  7. Hello all - Ive spent weeks working on finding sources for many things with this plastic industry. I have been very agressive in my efforts, and am giving you guys a heads up. - I will be VERY soon supplying both glow in the dark powder paints, glow in the dark plastisol additives, and glow in the dark colorant.. if you guys are interested, at all please email me at byronkeathley@gmail.com
  8. Im looking to get an infrared thermometer . I need one since I guess Im burning my plastic, even using a candy thermometer. Where is the best place to get one.. how much? and what should I look for... thanks
  9. I had the same problem.... I thought plastic was supposed to run between 350 and 400 I kept mine a under 400, and it came out fine the first time. then when i reheated, bpth batches I had got all clumpy.. I didnt let it get over 400 though... but they all got ruined and clumpy, and turned yellowish.. it doesnt seem like the plastic completely breaks down into a smooth pouring liquid though around 330.... am i not wiating long enough??? Id liek the help, this temperature and burning situation is a pain in the ass right now
  10. (2) 2 1/2 gal jugs, as he suggested. which I am happy that he did
  11. hopefully this doesnt get deleted, but I dont know where to post. I am just getting into soft plastics . 12. I usually use shawn for my molds.. but his lead time is rediculuous.. I sent him a $300 money order about 3 weeks ago, and cant even get ahold of him.. his voicemail is always full...
  13. I just got mine from bear last week. I ordered 5 gals. of plastic, 4 colors and softner Shipping - VERY FAST crap, he shipped like 15 orders out in the am and shipped mine oout before I even paid him for it. LOL he said id get it sat maybe I think I got it thur or fri the product - Great products. however, the hard plastic formula seems plenty soft. I dont even need the softner LOL the only thing I didnt like other then a couple of leaks on the colors while shipped, is that the LA craw ( sorta red) looks totally like rootbeer. I didnt give him a chance yet though to fix that ( sorry bear) I just got carried away tonite reading all these topics Excellent service, very professional, and he gave me his time over the phone with utmost respect and professionalism thanks bear
