I have a discussion with a customer regularly about using aluminum for a spin cast mold to cast lead head jigs. I tell him it wouldn't work because it would flash, that you wouldn't be able to clamp it tight enough. Also the mold would get so hot. So, has anyone tried to make a spincast mold out of aluminum? Your thoughts.

I have some of this HDPE. do you make crank baits out of it?

I spray a lot of 2 part epoxy with a regular paint gun. would an ultrasonic cleaner clean off the epoxy that get build up over a period of time?

My comment is about the rule and not your post being locked. I like the rule about NOT posting show and tell pics. That is what FB is for. I get tired of seeing pics of tounges and food on FB

I was told by one of the IRS guys that you could deduct ET that you have paid providing you can show that it was paid on an invoice you received from your vendor. so when you buy your hooks and it has the ET as a seperate charge on the invoice, you can deduct that amount from what you owe. If I was bettin man I would say I had the same IRS guy that Hugesy had, they came out of the Springfield office. now they come out of KC I can see why there is no tax on a repaint. but I never repaint anything usually so I had never thought about it.

I would have replied sooner but my internet has been down since Monday morn. I sat in on a meeting at Icast a few years ago and they stressed having established WS and RT prices. You have to have regular sales at the WS price in order to pay WS ET on RT sales.

I have a Federal Excise Tax number (FET). If I was pouring resin copies I would have to charge FET unless they had a FET number and would sign a paper stating that what they are buying from me is exempt and to be further manufactured and they will pay the FET I hope this doesn't confuse. Maybe this should have been my first answer. but hypothetically my first answer was right.

What ever program you use it will be a pretty big learning curve.you will have to dig in.

I use BobCadCam it is decent for drawing and willdo your Cam. Now with that said now i use Geomagic for my drawing and Bobcadcam for the machining. But the cheaper way would be bobcadcam by it self

I read an article a long time ago that at the Doe Run recycling plant website how they recycled batteries. first they put the batteries through a hammer mill that would bust them into small pieces then put that in water and float out all of the plastic material and what was left was the lead. then melt down into ingots. I have been to that plant and they mix 160 tons in a batch. they may run it over a magnet to pull out steel, I don't know. It's been a long time since I read that

I tried once. It wasn't worth it. The treminals are about the onle thing worth saving. The plates are the pita. I put bicarbonate soda (baking soda) over the cut up pieces of batteries to netrulize the acid.

I use Quickbooks Premier. It does a satisfactory job. I also use Alpha 5 database program that connects to Quickbooks to do things Qbks won't do.
