  1. X2 A-mac. Made that mistake just the other day but with epoxy! Had bubbles forming near the hook hangers. What a nightmare. I've dipped the lip and all in the past and i've found on some of my older baits the gst crinkled up a bit after time on the lip. It looked real nice the first few weeks.
  2. My first crank "Made in Michigan!" It's 2.5"s long and made from pine. It has a nice slow rise when dead stopped and a nice wobble.Lexan lip, epoxy topcoat. Through wired. Lol..The whole family was rooting for this little guy to come out right. My 8 year old was like "Look daddy it's swims" Awesome feeling.
  3. lol...Mark, your post gave me a good laugh this morning. My first lure was guided by Paul Adams DIY homeluremaking blog. Didn't stick to it 100% but it gave be a good proof of concept to go on. I'll get the photos uploaded and get some posted today.
  4. Thanks for the help. I did have a photobucket account but looks like the appropriate way is to go through the gallery. Rules are rules.. I don't want to bog the gallery down. Even took a small video of my high tech bathtub swim test.:-) It's been covered a hundred times before but wanted to contribute to the site my experience. Every post on here has been covered sometime in the past but going through the search function can be a daunting task ...I always get side tracked..lol. It's definately not a "How to" post but it worked for me.
  5. Took some pictures in each step I took and wanted to post it to get some feedback from you more experienced builders.Wanted to share some things I learned along the way as well. Not quite finished yet.Still needs the topcoat hooks and a swim test but wanted to find out what's the easiest way to post multiple pics.Success or fail I wanted to share my experience. I hope it swims
  6. Ebay has them in 25,50&100 packs http://m.ebay.com/itm/181313296063?nav=SEARCH&sbk=1

Yeah, They turned out great. A little yellow would add some depth but still should land a lunker.

    Rat

I would put a line down the bib to make the rat look like it's got a big tooth..lol. looks good

    Blue Marlin

I like it. Not a scheme you see everyday.

    Ghost Minnow

Nice ghost job. I always seem to put too much paint on though I keep telling myself "Less is more...Less is more!"

    Deep perch

    The walleye should like it.

    Mustardshad1

Just a 3" ko using sepia, brown&mustard with a hint of turquoise ir near the eye.Gst finish. Had issues with the first set of eyes so these I had to super glue on after the topcoat. Might take another dip but still should fish without

    Tennessee

I think purple hooks would look.....purple..lol. Nice job Cougar.
  17. X2. I've painted and dipped a magic swimmer and tried to clear out the joints but the bait is toast now..lol. Got 9 left. My only thought was to tape the joints carefully and spray auto clear next time?
  18. Captaing, I have an account there as well and thought that was fishy so that's why I emailed the owner of Wlure. That link for the painted ones with hooks looks promising. Can always repaint if you don't like the scheme.
  19. Wlure has discontinued them. I have emailed back and forth. I ordered 10 to just check out about 5 months ago. They needed some sanding and some hook hangers secured better but after that they swam great. Just like they're $8 cousin but with molded eyes and fins.
  20. Just an Fyi, I dipped a plastic crank before painting and had paint actually slide when redipping for the top coat. I made sure the paint was thoroughly dry also.
