  3. Bears Molds are SOLD JSC
  4. "I stuck 3 pager vibrate motors on the 3" coupler. After busting a few motors and frying a transformer it works. I put springs on the cap so it shakes and has the air. I might do 3 more motors, there less than a dollar so it's not bad. Doesn't work as good as a board with springs and a palm sander bolted on, but it's smaller. No more stiring and powder coat volcanos." ============================ How about posting a pix of what you came up with the vibrator .. Where can U get the Vibrator Motors U R using ? Curious JSC
  5. To increase production you gotta have more molds. Most any thing else is mostly going to cost more or take up a lot of time. JSC
  6. Dels SKU16143 Stick Mold is on hold JSC
  7. Don't think you will get .031 to go in that space with out modifieing it ... better to have one wire out then loop in the double ....( see some of the old topics that will show you how to do this ... make a bait like the old "Bushwhacker" ) JSC
  8. I use an old Wood Handle Bait Knife. I drag the blade ove the area to be smoothed .. takes a little practice. On large flashing I will use the knive to cut it off. A cheap knife that you dont mind putting on a grinder once in a great while to sharpen it up. I have tried the other ways but this one has worked best with me .. Files do an excellent job but lead "Clogs" them up so much that you have the extra work of cleaning the file. Side note= I cast is mostly a Mfg, Distributor .. and big retailer Show ... if you are going as a Mfg it is best to have a Rep (or more) to represent you ... 2 Cents Worth JSC
  9. "So what happens if you do claim a loss and they consider you a "hobby". Anyone know what that changes tax wise? What do they do?" I belive the only thing is that you cannot report it on your income tax. Anyone else know different ? JSC

  12. "Don't get us wrong here; I'm sure no one is trying to talk you out of this if that is what you really want to do. We're just trying to share our thoughts and experience with you. www.novalures.com " Well Said Nova JSC
  13. Good Reply Cobra. You are learning and in doing this learning it has cost you by the mistakes you have made .. but if you are going to make a go of it YOU WILL MAKE MISTAKES ... only One was perfect ... but learn from these mistakes and you must be willing to pay the price ... Every day this market makes drastic changes and you have to be on top of it ... Good Luck To ALL OF YOU who are trying to make it big time only a very small % will ... part time and not depending on it for your income is another story completly. JSC
  14. "JSC- web design cost will kill you fast if you go to outside sources. I'm fortunate in that my son does all my web work. An active website w/new product introductions yearly requires an un-believable amount of time and $.Good luck!" I have done a lot of Data Base Work (in FileMaker) but have only briefly touched WEB work.. have been doing a little checking out design and etc. Kind of testing the water.. The Daughter has a couple of businesses on the web ... Like anything else there is more expense than meets the eye ... not only out of pocket but extra work. JSC
  15. You have received a lot of good advice. One thing that was not mentioned is "Timing" also called "Luck" on getting started. Back in the late 60's early 70's I did it full time and I had a "Lucky Run" have seen some of my ideas not work then .. but went strong with some one else a few years down the line. I did not take the big step that was needed as I was trying to make it go on its on ... that step was to go out and get financial backing ... if you have enough money you can make some of these things happen .. in other words expensive promotion ... and then you have all of the other production .. taxes ... and etc as stated by others. Knowing the distribution procedure is very important (know the discounting and deals you have to make and the expenses of same) What little I do now is with a few B & T shops around the area (thinking about the web .. have not decided yet) .. I was in the retail, mfg and spent over 30 years (came off of road in 2001) as a wholesale fishing tackle, marine and hunting salesman ... durinig that time I saw a lot come and go ... more went than stayed ... Money and timing was the major problems they faced ... Hope this may help a little. My 2 cents worth JSC
  16. All the questions you have asked and a lot more are available on this site ... From threads to tutorials .. Check them out (searching) then ask some questions and everyone will be glad to help Have Fun JSC
  17. Cadman has given some good advice. For a good clean even line with out a lot of work you need to dip the last coat ... after a little drying time you need to "Screet" it off as there will be a small drop .. depending on the type paint and the thickness. Best done by racking (I used a strip about 12 to l5 inches with holes drilled about 3/8 in apart). A dip pan about 2" deep 1 inch wide and just longer that the rack strip. Many ways to "Rack" the strip. Lacquer, Vinyl and etc. I like the idea of having a base coat of powder paint (did not have it back in the old days) and I used lacquer, then later on 2 part epoxy marine paint ... Note a "V" Dip pan is the best to get all the "Goody" out of your paint (Less waste) My 2 cents ... Hope I have helped JSC
  18. [JSC isn't fish hair a different material? I'm gonna check it out this week when I stop by the fly shop. They have regular NYLON the same that you use for Pompano Jigs and the deep jiggers I see in you photo .. at least the last time I checked they did. More than one diamater as well. JSC
  19. Sounds like You really need to get Bojon's CD Answers these basic questions ... shows you how to do it ... can't beat it JSC
  20. "Fish Hair" 651-639-3083 Hope this helps JSC
  21. Just my 2 cents worth. To learn some of the properties of the plastisol I would start out pouring open cavity molds .. The best Basic training you can get (this takes more skill than the other ways) .. wether you use pyrex, metal or use the pot ... later on go to the 2pc full cavity (if you want, I can't do as much with multi coloring as I can with open cavity) and then I think the hand injection would come into play as you have learned some valuable lessons in the other processes. Hope that helps and not muddy up the water. JSC
  22. In my opinion this is part of the contol and take over of us all ... The Global Warming is of the same thing here in the States we have had the biggest year in the number of Red Snapper in the Gulf Of Mexico ... and they are still cutting back ... During the Destin Oct. Rodeo they actulay closed a couple of species (by they the FEDS) We have had a couple of rallies to bring attention to the real facts. An Old Capt. was telling me that he has never seen the number of Red Snapper any higher than it has been this year ... Catch your limit and try to get down and get a Grouper & the Snapper get it before it can get to them. It is killing a long time Sports industry with a lot of money & JOBS involved !!!!!! This appears to be part of a World Wide Effort. My 2 cents worth ... off of Soap Box JSC
  23. Dittos to what Mike said. Pull a search as their is some in depth information on this. If you sell Retail or Wholesale you must pay.FET ... Check for local requirements. JSC
