    jerkbait

Thanks. I made sure the sides were a bit wider and they are flat sided not rounded so they will flash a lot. Also made with #4 trebles and not #6's for a better hook up and land percentage.
  2. Did you add ballast weight? Do you have any finished lures that you tested so that we can see the line tie and hook hangers? There could be several things going on but you didn't offer enough information.

    bluegill squarebill

Thanks for the compliment. I have been working on these since last August and I finally got them all the way I wanted them. I have made these in foam to and will test them side by side with the resin this year to see what is better. I can tell you now that foam has better action.

    popper

This is my own designed topwater resin bait that will walk or pop. It is 4 inches long and weighs 1.1 ounces with #2 treble hooks. I wanted a topwater that had bigger hooks and a lot more weight so that I could throw it a mile at Erie.

    jerkbait

These are my jerkbaits made from resin. They are 4.25 inches long and weigh .6 ounce. I have suspenders and floaters. They were designed with upgraded hooks so no little # 6 hooks to loose fish and I got the weight right so they will cast a mile.

You can go either way depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
  12. I think they are the same. You can get a jerk bait that floats and some may call it a minnow bait or you can get a jerk bait that suspends. I think it is just a name identification thing, if you say minnow bait you know it floats and if you say jerk bait you assume it suspends but the truth is a jerk bait can float or suspend.
  13. Just print your lips onto labels that you can buy from Walmart, Staples, etc. Then just cut them out and stick them on. I buy my labels from onlinelabels.com.
  14. There is a good chance that they are using proprietary product.
  15. If it was my DVD I would be upset if you posted it. Just simply ask him. I don't find it fair that so many bought it and now everyone will get it for free.

    Hooks

You will have to be specific to what hooks you consider good and what style as it is subjective. Next question would be what quantity do you consider bulk? If you answer those questions I am sure a few guys will chime in.
  17. I have used it to clear some bills in the past but never on a bait. I wouldn't get the 2X but instead get the regular. The difference between the 2x and the regular is the amount that is being sprayed out. You will have alot less runs with the regular because you can put on several lighter coats and not just one heavy coat that usually runs.
  18. They work in the north very well for largemouth and smallmouth.
  19. The only 2 situations that I have had material go up the bill is when I first started making molds and from having bills that were not all shaped correctly. When I first started I made two molds that had this problem. I use clay and you have to make sure that the clay is tight to the bill and the body or it will show when you pour. As Dave mentioned, you can also use a dummy lip and mold it in your blank and pull it out after pouring. If it doesn't pull out easy then you can spray the lip with mold release and it should pull out easy. I personally mold my lips in and never have to clean a bill so it can be done with a 100% success rate. I know it is frustrating and at times can get expensive but if you stick with it you will be able to make perfects baits every time. Hope this helps.

  21. Well said Cadman. Opinions backed by experience are very valuable.
  22. Yes Barlows does not do back orders. Unfortunately with their system now you do not know when ordering if they have what you need in stock and they do not inform you if it is out of stock until you receive your order. I have talked to them about this and was told that they will try to wait to see if they get what you need in stock but if it is too long they will just ship. This is usually what will delay an order but if your items are in stock you get them quickly. I have called and have had no problems with fishing skirts customer service. I have ordered thousands of dollars from them in the past but have not made an order in almost 2 years. For personal use they are great but if you are selling the consistency of their products varies. If I order a 100 tabs of one color today it can be a completely different color or shade if I order the same color a month from now. That being said I only experience this problem if I buy in bulk which is what I did 99% of the time. If I buy in small quantities then I have had no problems. Since I have not ordered in such a long time this may no longer be a problem. All opinions and experience should be posted, good or bad, so that we can all make our own decisions on where we spend our hard earned money. As long as it is an honest opinion based on experiences and not a bashing. Bashing would be to verbally attack. Because an opinion is negative does not mean that anyone bashed a company or product. If a negative opinion is posted and you do not like it you do not have to use it when forming your own opinion but one thing is for sure, we should all be able to make that choice for ourselves. I personally would not post a negative opinion or use a negative opinion unless it has happened more than once, It has already been said, people can have a bad day, I know I have them. So please don't post a negative opinion uless it has happened more than once. This has always been a controversial topic but it doesn't have to be.

    Solarez

You will get a lot more life out of your bulbs if you don't turn them on for long periods. Turn them on for 15 minutes and then turn them off to cool and then repeat. Doing this causes no harm to the baits. Think about if these lights were in an actually tanning bed, nobody would be under them for a couple hours at a time. I don't think they were designed for that.

1 to 1.5 years as long as you let them cool.
  25. I use the same tool as you Mark. It is the best tool in my opinion. I also use the O-rings and you can buy them from fishing supply sources for around $5 for 50 or you can just get a 500pc bag here for $3.62 the part # is 006 N70. You can even get a 2000pc bag for $14.49. Get all of your O-rings from here because they are so cheap.
