  1. JigsGalore, Yes you can buy Dead on Plastix in a 5 gallon bucket. I was using the Baitjunckys's plastic , before trying the Dead On, and they have a very good plastic. The one thing that I really like about Dead On's is you can reheat it over and over again and it just doesn't fade, or yellow. The colors keep their brightness, without the use of stabilizer. Iv'e always added stabilizer to any reheat on other plastics, but still after a few times, the color begins to fade. It does not bubble bad, you might get a few with very high heat, but they go away pretty fast. Just my take on it.
  2. I agree with DaveMC1, I believe I can make more baits, in less time, and make a better looking bait , using the cnc injection molds. Just by watching what all there is to getting the centrifugal molds ready, seems very time consuming.
  3. The Dead ON Plastix takes reheats better than any plastic I have ever used. I have used several, but not all brands out there. You can make a mistake and let it get to 370 degrees, and it still hasn't ever burned, or yellowed. I am sold, it is the only plastic I will use from now on. I have no ties with them in any way. I'm just telling my opinion about there plastic. I have not used any of there other products. Mine has set for months, due to illness, and it will separate , but after stirring it seems just fine. Just my 2 cents.
  4. Sounds like good people to deal with, I'll keep that in mind. Your right, so many times we only hear about , bad customer service. It's refreshing to hear about someone trying to run there business right.
  5. Why don't you make an injection pop mold? Like Roger Linnell did?
  6. Iron Bass, thanks for sharing that video. I really enjoyed watching it. I always wondered how the big companies made there baits.
  7. Welcome to the forum, Desertbird, Great job on the cranks, look like you've been doing it all your life.
  8. They have been on order for a while. I'm pretty sure I e-mailed him about it some time ago. Hope he gets some soon.
  9. If that is your first attempt at making a mold and shooting the bait, then you will be awesome at this hobby, when you get a little time under your belt. Very good first job.
  10. I have plenty of the black eyes, but I like that idea about painting them. Thanks Chuck, for sharing .
  11. Iv'e been waiting for some of the deep .5 square bills too. Hope he gets some soon.

Cool idea Cami. Looks like it works pretty well.
  13. Vientlvole, no need to be dreading your first shoot. Just be careful, and take your time. If you get in a hurry, that's when things happen. After you have shot a few baits it will be alot more familiar to you, and you will see how enjoyable it is to make your own baits, to look like you want them to, and then catch a fish on something you made. By the way, welcome to TU
  14. Thanks for your replies. I use Devcon 2 ton 30 minute alot , for coating baits, but did not know if it would be right for gluing the bills.
  15. What do most people use to glue in there plastic crankbait bills? Is epoxy the best? Or is there something better? Thanks for any help.
  16. MtrouTx, you really are a fantastic carver. Your bait looks great. I'm sure you will get the action as you want. I'm very jealous of anyone who has that talent. I have tried it, and i just don't have that ability.
  17. Great to catch a fish on a bait that you build from scratch. Great job Mark.
  18. You usually get what you pay for. Mark, gave you some good advise. If you wind up ruining your plastic, or have bleeding through, you haven't saved any money, plus wasted your time, when you could have been making good baits.
  19. I love the Lil Nasty hooks. I use them in the mid west jig mold, up to 2/0.
  20. Welcome to the forum, Dell sisco, Do you cut your lure blank in half, before forming your stencil? If you have enough vacuum and use a full blank, you can enclose too much of the blank, and it will wrap around the blank , enough that it is hard to get out.
  21. Spike It paints work fine. And they have several colors.
  22. Nice paint job MonteSS,.
  23. I believe Anglinarcher , gave you sound advice. Sure you can use enamel, but what a pain to clean up. I don't like using solvents , if I don't have to.
  24. I received my 4.5 Weed beater frog mold today . Haven't got to fish with it yet. But am very happy with the way it looks, and the easy way it injects, no dents.
