  1. I saw there is at least one company offering a tungsten weight that sort of embeds into a senko style worm to add weight. I prefer it over a jig head style weight. These can easily be made with regular split shot, a drill and some light ss wire. I push it up through the bottom of the bait and then put my hook through the wire loop. Seems the original senko lasts a few fish longer. Here's how I configure.

  4. on my hp-c+ i had a problem with the nozzle not sealing and causing no paint to flow through the gun. so i cut a thin strip of teflon tape and wrapped the tiny threads with it . could you possibly make a temp oring from some teflon tape rolled up and wrapped around the threads until you can locate the one that fits?

  5. Q----'' Did you ever get that whole upside down thing figured out? And the driving on the wrong side of the road? '' Funny thing is Mark, we seem to have gotten used to it . But when I have hired a car over there or in Sweden, I have had a few problems with direction and which side is up (North) etc - It doesn't take long to get used to it though ---BUT then we come home and have to go through re-calibrating the compass all over again . Have a great Xmas/ New Year all Pete

  6. Most hobby builders use non toxic water based airbrush paint. There are many brands. Createx is a standard but you can mix/match among art and taxidermy brands. The alternative is lacquer based paint. Each has advantages/disadvantages. As far as epoxy for clearcoating, there are two main camps. Slow cure glue epoxies like Devcon Two Ton and decoupage/table top epoxies like Envirotex Lite (aka ETEX). Again, each has its advantages. There are numerous posts here about the popular epoxies, how to apply them, their different characteristics, etc. use the search feature to explore choices and techniques. There are other clearcoats too: spray on urethane, moisture cured urethane, UV cured polyesters. Again, use SEARCH.

  8. I use a 2 parts plastisol to 1 part salt ratio, by volume. I use Bait Junkys soft, and add a teaspoon of softener to a cup of plastisol. I've found that using glass blasting media in place of salt makes a much stronger bait, so now I add 3/4 parts media, 1/4 part salt, and 2 parts plastisol, and mix in the teaspoon of softener before I cook the plastisol initiallhy.

  9. Got bit! I'll follow. I would recommend all guys dig out that old #33 with #6-8 mono, slap it on an ugly stick or wonderod, add a 3" white twister on an unpainted leadhead. Only a aglia #2 for a back up. If you could afford it add a 14' alumacraft with a 9 1/2hp evinrude (no electronics or trolling motor), if not, stomp the shorelines. Bare bones fishing! Plenty efficient. It would sure lighten the load for fishing trips and ease the fishing budget. The fight would be much more interesting and memorable too! I understand, it's not all about buying confidence, it's about building confidence. Damn pier pressure! I'm sure there are good anglers that would outcatch many of us using the throwback combo. So I plead guilty of creating stuff I really don't need and share so maybe someone else can revise it into something even more useable. Sometimes we create stuff just for the helluvit. One vote against.
