  1. I ordered the 11 inch smoothy ribbon tail worm mold & i'll have to say i'm impressed. A quality mold that shoots great every time & makes some really nice big worms with a big ribbon tail that will see heavy use this summer. I also like the fact that there are no ribs or egg sack so it's easy to cut down to pretty much any size wanted without any problem rigging a hook in it. I like it.
  2. Baitplastics price is the best on the market & it's free shipping over 39 bucks or something like that.
  3. Like jigman said Clahouns is good stugg. I'm using baitplastics medium & it's good too. I've also used lureworks medium pourasol & it's good stuff & comes in a bag in box with a nozzle on it which is awful handy. Either of the three are very good plastic.
  4. I use the sp156 too & it’s good stuff.
  5. Zeiners are as good as it comes to deal with & will ship it out quick if you order it.
  6. I'd call basstackle & ask. I was looking for a second bigger injector once & April i think her name was told me to hang on & she walked back to the shop & told me they had a 10 ouncer & i bought it. It never showed that they had it either. They're great to deal with & definitely have the best injectors so i'd call them.
  7. I have some molds that i clamp top corners, bottom corners & in the middle on each side because i got dents or bubbles & it worked good. Some molds are also easier than others to get flashing & i've done that to cure it too.
  8. Are you checking the temp of your plastic after heating? I had a mold form a maker do that & i sent him a message about it & he had me actually measure the temp & it was 400*. I backed off the heat a few seconds & no more problems.
  9. It has 8 individual vertically running injection ports & according to do-it it will shoot laminates & i'm going to try my dual injector out on it when i do get to shoot it. The pics i've saw of baits made with it look good in my opinion which is why i bought it. I was after the mottled keitech look & i'm sure i can get it. If plastic is the same thickness i think it will do good. If one color is hotter & than the other it may mix. I'd call do-it & ask any questions about it because there aren't many in folks hands yet. They may have sample baits on hand too.
  10. Whatever you do don’t use high heat krypton like you put on a stove because it won’t set up. It may if you baked it, but I painted some last summer while it was very hot & layed them in the sun to dry. I ended up having to get aircraft stripper & strip the paint off because I painted all I had after watching videos on it & it just never cured right. Then I shot a couple shots of old light colored left over plastic to get them good & clean. I’ll just use them like they are from now on.
  11. I'll have to say that other then my bass tackle baby brush hog style & my delmart super hog style molds that some of the essential series & even of the artificial stone molds i have are my favorites. They're really affordable, shoot easy & make some good baits. I have several & use them every time out. They may not make really bright shiny baits, but recipes can be tweeked to make them look better by backing off of the colorant some. These molds have convinced me that the fish ain't worrying about whether the baits they're biting are shiny or not.
  12. If this weather don't hurry & straighten up & warm up i won't be using mine for awhile either because driving 3 counties over to work midnight until noon the next doing snow & ice removal in this crap you sure don't feel like trying it out either.
  13. I "ve been looking at the videos of his presses myself. I have a few of his molds & check his site often & wondered what was going on. Hope everything's alright.
  14. If i were buying i'd buy 100 count bags of certain baits that i knew i was going to use a lot of instead of 8,10 or 12 packs. In summer i'm not going to be caught without baby brush hogs, super hogs, tubes, shakey head worms, jig trailers, trd style baits & big worms. I make all of mine in bulk in a few colors & buy my silicone jigs, hair jigs, hooks, rattles etc. in bulk for this very reason when i need them. I've got 3 one gallon ziplock bags of jigs in the boat now.
  15. What Travis said sounds brutally honest & extremely accurate too. It would be extremely hard to compete with a good paying day job just making soft plastic lures. There are so many folks making them the competition would be tough. I'll probably set my self up to do it as a side gig after retirement if i feel like i'm healthy enough & still have the want to. If i was 100% certain i could match the income & benefits of what i've been doing for the last 25 years i would in a heartbeat, but i know the reality of that is impossible with what i make for around my area. You could always try designing lures & selling your ideas to lure companies too.

Look in the stickys for mold companys. A lot of the companys sale other supplies too. Myself i use lureworks colorant & glitter form spikeit outdoors. Right now i'm using baitplastics plastic myself, but have used calhouns when baitjunkys had it & quite a bit of lureworks plastic too & really like it. I've got molds from anglingai, enforcer bait molds, basstackle, jacobs mold & machine, delmart, do-it & a few of the artificial stone molds from the ukrainian company bugmolds.net on ebay & just got an essential XL series swimbait mold from zieners today that do-it makes. Fatguys is another mold maker that lots of folks like. I'm sure i'm forgetting somebody for mold makers too. Also i'd get a basstackle injector because they make the best bar none & you definitely don't want to skimp on them.
  18. Yep the basstackle twinjector is all you need to order. I actually got mine from Frank & really like it.
  19. Look up milking the cow in soft plastic lure making & it should take you to a youtube video by worlds worst fishing & you can see exactly how he does it.
