chas48
Is there an easy way to put that rubber band on your jig that holds the skirt? I believe there is a tool out there for that but it is $$$.
Lincoya
Try a piece of small diameter tubing (aluminum work good) about half the length of your skirt material. Roll your collar onto the tube, place your skirt material in the tube and then roll the collar off of the tube on the shirt material. chas48
I got that part down. I need to get it on the jig.
Mr B
You should be able to just threat the skirt onto the hook just like you are putting on a plastic trailer. Then push the collar/skirt over the collar on the jig. Mr B
fish_rman2000
Try using a pair of long needle nosed pliers. Bill
basskat
Put a real light coat of baby oil or worm oil on your hook and skirt collar. It'll slide right over the collar. I use silicone skirts and they don't stick together. I'm not sure how round rubber will react to the oil.
B&D Custom Lures
Just use petroleum jelly. add a little on the hook and it will slide on easy and it has not affect on rubber or silcone
Taylor Man
Yes!! Buy yourself an industrial skirt tool. It makes a easy job out of making jigs and spinnerbaits. Need a lesson? www.lurepartsonline.com

parker085
Not sure how I didn't think of this. i bought a tool that looks just like this a few months ago. This really makes me think. I have some old aluminum arrow shafts at home and some glue in knock receivers. if i would just get all the glue off them so they would go in and out really nice i think it would work too. thanks for making me think
ROWINGADUBAY
I use a piece of a large diameter arrow shaft with a matching dia. field tip that is screwed into a insert but not glued into the arrow so it can be easily removed I have tried various lube for sliding the bands on and i think alcohol or pam cooking spray works best I like the alchohol because it evaporates quick Oh yeah you will need a piece of wire longer than the shaft to fish the skirt through

Bassnut108
I use a broken aluminum arrow shaft. Cut to the length you want sand and smooth the edge, put a practice tip on the other end. Works great. Have used it for years.

Braided Line
There are times you need to come up with the $$$ to get the proper tool. It works fine. You can also use the smallest tele tie. Plus they come in colors.

mark poulson
Ben, I use a smaller O ring instead of a rubber skirt collar, and I reuse after I get the skirt on the jig/spinnerbait and wired in place.
bass100
I use the same tool as you Mark. It is the best tool in my opinion. I also use the O-rings and you can buy them from fishing supply sources for around $5 for 50 or you can just get a 500pc bag here for $3.62 the part # is 006 N70. You can even get a 2000pc bag for $14.49. Get all of your O-rings from here because they are so cheap.
